View and BookHookpit Farm is 3 miles north of Winchester, positioned on rising ground with panoramic views as far reaching as the Isle of Wight. The newly built campsite is situated alongside the working farm, taking advantage of the magnificent views and is sheltered from the north wind. The site has newly built facilities including water and 16amp hook ups as well as a discrete Elsan point. The site is accessed via a private road, greeted with a coded gate, to make moving in and out more convenient and private.
The fields surrouding the campsite are situated on the rolling Hampshire Downs and follow an arable rotation of Malting Barley, Wheat, Oilseed Rape and Forage Maze. A short walk away from the Caravan Site there are many footpaths and walks through the farm itself. The local area has many attractions and provides convenient access to Winchester, Portsmouth, Salisbury and the New Forest, as well as being an ideal stop over before crossing the channel.
Within half a mile of the campsite, the village of Kings Worthy offers a number of convenience stores including Tesco Express (with ATM), a chemist and a post office. There is also a local farm shop; which serves excellent coffee and light lunches. To that end, there are also a number of local pubs which serve award winning food. Outside Kings Worthy, trains from Winchester to London or the South Coast are frequent and there is also a local leisure railway, The Watercress Line, 9 miles away in Alresford. With its proximity to Winchester, the site is ideally located close to the M3, A34 and A33, making it the ideal location for a base in which to explore all that Hampshire has to offer.

Lovely far reaching views, well kept large field. Plenty of space when outfits park considerately. Some background noise from traffic, but not much considering you are within easy reach of the M3 and A34. Also trains, but you soon get used to these. Top tip - approach from M3 direction, we explored the alternative route in from the A34 solo and the narrow roads would make this hard work when towing! At the top of a hill, so can get windy, so bring storm guys for your awning to be on the safe side. Convenient location for Winchester and surrounding areas. King Charles pub within walking distance and Cart and Horses (where we preferred the food) is 5 mins away by car. Surprised that there is no recycling, everything goes into one bin. We enjoy our stays here and site provides for all our needs. Lots of walks locally, including some from the site.
