Handy CL for Lackford Lakes

We stayed on this CL because it was close to Lackford Lakes and en route, sort of, home. Directions to site were clear enough and easy to follow. The 6 Hardstandings, in use due to inclement weather, were on gravel and just wide enough for the caravan. You had to step out onto wet grass, which had not long been cut but not picked up. A bug bear of ours as grass stains are some of the hardest things to get out. In addition the ground was a bit churned up. In drier weather you could easily pitch on the grass. Units were not on top of each other so there was sufficient space between them. The standard Elsan point and recycling bins can be found next to the wooden unheated shower block. We used our own facilities so cannot comment on them. Grey water is disposed of down a drain and is marked. Wifi is extremely poor. Dog walkers should enjoy the site as there is a large paddock adjacent and the owners have also plotted a small walking area. In addition there is a FP about 50 yards down the road from the site which will lead you to West Stow Country Park, turn right out of site for it. Buses run from the main road about 200 yards away but the local pub looked closed for good. Lackford Lakes is run by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the reserve is free to enter but you'll need to take your cat or cycle even though it is only 5 minutes down the road. We'll use the site again when in the area.
