We stayed here the night before our ferry crossing. It's lovely, peaceful, well-serviced. Our only problem was spotting the access route: a map on the site page would be very helpful as we didn't find it obvious where to go. No complaints though.
Pleasant site ideal for the ferry
We arrived at this CL with short notice having been insulted at the one that we had orginally booked.
The owner was friendly and welcoming. The site has a hard standing area as well as grass and facilities are basic. The site has a pleasant open setting with views over fields with horses grazing in the adjacent field (when we were there in June and July). Access is fairly easy and there is plenty of space.
It is great for the ferry as it is only a 3 or 4 mile trundle down the hill to the docks. We also used this site on our return from France and it was good knowing that when we got off the ferry that we only had a fifteen minute drive back up the hill.
I would recommend this site particularly as an overnight stop for the ferry.
A good CL with lots of space
Largely agree with 2 previous reviews. Plenty of space on both grass and hardstanding, pleasant welcome and feels well run. However the access needs care as described by Woody19, and unlike Fidenza we wouldn't say there is good shelter - there are trees along one side of the grass, but the hardstanding is pretty exposed.
Good NH or long stay
Agree with Fidenza on all points. However it should be noted that access to the pitch area is through a multi-level but clean farmyard and some long outfits will have to pick their route to avoid grounding. The approach road to the site through housing is narrow in places and is a bus route so care needs to be taken especially when leaving. TV reception excellent.
Spacious and convenient
Have now stayed here several times. The site offers a spacious, part sloping but well cut field with good views towards N. Foreland. There are numerous conveniently placed power outlets allowing for wide choice of locating your van. Aditionally there is a large and excellent area of good hardstanding equally well serviced. Good shelter from most wind directions.
Much coming and going of ferry users does not at all impede the quality of this site, as it is sufficiently large to cater for all needs. Good access to some nice country, to Dover Castle, to Dover ferries and to Channel Tunnel (about 20 mins away). Excellent, well run site.. Many thanks.
