Generous pitches!

Stayed here for a week and enjoyed our stay in this area. As noted by others, the pitches are very large and offer plenty of space for caravan, awning & car - unusually you can drive through each pitch which certainly makes access easy with no need to reverse, which is a bonus for some of us! There is EHU and drinking water at each pitch which is one of the reasons we chose the site... The views from the site are beautiful as is the local countryside - we had numerous drives all of which were thoroughly enjoyable. Crieff is nice little town with some excellent shops - the Crieff Food Company has a great range of top quality food and a range of sourdough bread which was an unexpected surprise.

Very Spacious Site

This is a lovely site only a few miles out of Crieff and very easy to find and to access. It has the biggest hard standing pitches I have ever seen and as the site is terranced there are great views from all the pitches. The only disappointmnet was acress to the river for swimming which was impossible due to the number of fishermen!

Stunning Views

A lovely peaceful site, easy to find and good access and great views all around. EHU and water to each pitch was very welcome. Would recommend and visit again if in the area.

Every bit as good as previously said

This was a lovely quiet place with stunning views and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Three other pitches taken while I was there but so much space it made no difference. I notice the facilities section of this CAMC entry omits mention of the chemical waste arrangement. This is a toilet with lid and water hose for rinsing out - very simple and practical! Will definitely be my ‘go to’ Crieff stop since I have family in the town I can visit without bothering them for a bed and why not when it’s so quiet and beautiful?!

Fantastic Location

Fantastic site. So easy to drive straight onto pitch. Your own EHU with water tap. You can walk along the side of the River Earn to Crieff. When leaving site be careful as the road slopes down towards the site. There is a mirror opposite so you can see round the bend to your left so makes it easier to exit. Would highly recommend this C.L. site. Looking forward to staying there again.

Beautiful Location

When we arrived at the CL, the first thing we said was 'Wow' because the view down the valley was just beautiful. Booking was straightforward and access very easy from the road. The drive on/drive off style pitches are ideal for caravans - all level, wide enough to accommodate awnings and all fully serviced. Recycling, rubbish and chemical toilet emptying was all in a clean and tidy fenced off area. The pitches abut a small roadway which gives access down to a property and then subsequently the river. There is a path alongside the river but I found it quite narrow in places, especially with two dogs in tow. I did walk along the lane (although it was busier than I expected with traffic) and managed a circular walk taking in the path on the other side of the river which eventually takes you into Crieff. This is a lovely little town and there is plenty of walking in the area. We didn't explore as much as we would have liked as it it was proving difficult to get fuel (none and then £20 limit) but we plan to return next year. A word of caution when leaving the site - the little service road slopes quite steeply upwards to access the public road. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Excellent 2 week holiday ….

Fantastic, peaceful CL with spacious and easily accessed (drive through) hard standings with their own EHU and individual water tap. Clean and well tended enclosed disposal facilities with recycling, glass and separate waste bins. and chemical waste. Our Lock n Level was useful and the pitch easily had room for the awning with space to drive through. The site was beautifully kept and the short walk to the river had lots of wildlife to see including deer, oyster catchers, yellow hammers and one of the visitors was lucky enough to video a beaver in the river. Very handy base to explore Drummond Gardens and the scenery is fantastic. Ben Lawer was amazing as was the smoked salmon platter at Drochart Falls, Killin. The breakfast at Crieff Visitor Centre is highly recommended and we now know we should have signed up for the loyalty card! Already looking at dates for next year with so much more to see and enjoy. Overall a great holiday!!

Excellent CL - stop over or stay

Stopped off for 4 nights June 2021. Easy booking; easy access; easy parking. The owners don't bother you, other than to check everything is OK in a friendly manner and keep the re-cycling area clean. Drive on from the back, and off from the front of pitches. The photos do not do it justice. Hardstanding pitches, each with it's own EHU and water tap. Very clean and organised rubbish and waste disposal area, including a drive over waste removal for motorhomes. Lovely views over rolling farmland, with a backdrop of mountains in the distance. Very quiet at night; and only a little traffic in the daytime. Lots to do in the local area; so could stay a while. Lovely walk down the lane to the beautiful river with fishing, or easy to walk along with flowers and birds. Heaven with the dog. Deer roaming the surrounding fields in view of the caravan is a delight (with their fawns). Local towns have everything you could need, and not far to drive (bike?). The only downside is the site is on a hill (level pitches on terraces): hence the previous comment about needing hedges between pitches. These would have to be very tall, and need lots of maintenance - so please don't bother. Either respect others's privacy, or close your blind. Just one suggestion from us: a strip of set aside round an adjacent field would be useful for a short dog walk? Would definitely come again, and strongly recommend.
