Definitely in our top 3 CLs

We have just spent a week at this lovely CL. We had a very warm welcome from Becky and Paul. There are 5 very large plastic reinforced, level grass pitches suitable for year round use, plus a couple of hard standings for winter use. Every pitch has a post with EHU and water, and there is also secure, fast wi-fi. I second all the praises in previous reviews. We have been caravanning for over 50 years and this is certainly one of the best CLs we have had the privilege of visiting. We wish this CL was closer to our home in Dorset so that we could become frequent visitors. Thank you again Becky and Paul

What A Gem

We have just returned from a three night stay at this CL. What a great find. We had a very warm and friendly welcome. The pitches and surrounding area are pristine, and each pitch had EHU and water. The electricity is metered, so you only pay for what you use, which is by far the fairest method of charging. The waste bin area and Chemical Disposal Point was very well organised. There is a local shop just five minutes walk away. The CL is on a bus route to either Gloucester or Tewkesbury. There is some road noise, but we didn’t find it too intrusive. My only misgiving is that despite the fact that there was a sign clearly stating that dogs should be kept on leads, there were a couple of instances when that wasn’t adhered to. People staying on a CL or campsite need to realise not everyone loves dogs. That being said, this is probably the best CL we’ve stayed on in a long while, and will definitely be back.

Fantastic

This has to be the best site ever, our new favourite. It was our first visit and will now be a regular site for us. Becky and Paul are genuinely lovely people who really make you feel like you've known them forever. Nothing is too much to ask them, they are quick to offer help when needed and provide information and very helpful advice about the area. The site is immaculate with no grass cuttings left after mowing to stick to your shoes and end up trampled into your van. Lovely open space with lots of different birds to watch all day and a wonderful dark sky which enabled us to watch the meteor shower awesome 😊. You only pay for the electricity you use which is what they get charged you don't pay anymore at all. Tbh this was our first metered electric site and after hearing so many stories from people we know who have stayed elsewhere we were very apprehensive, but theres definitely no worries on electricity charges here. At the end of your stay you get given a very detailed electricity usage printout. Looking forward to our next stay here.

The best site

We can only agree with other reviews entirely. Also to add this site should be a model for the standards that other sites should aspire to. This site is the best we have stayed on in 42 years with club staying many CLs over them years. Could not meet nicer owners. Will return for sure. C. Richards

Pleasant Surprise on Arrival & Departure

Such a warm welcome on arrival but as returning guests we were offered a very tasty surprise which went down well. The site owners pay great attention to detail. However, one thing I have never seen in 50 years of being a member of CC and now CAMC is an exceptional attention to detail. Early morning on the day that another guest was due to arrive, Becky removed the water/electric point cover and then sanitised the tap, electric connector and other fitments also leaving a recycling box. On our departure, paying for the electric used you are given an itemised bill with usage, peak times and external weather information. Fantastic customer service and guaranteeing further visits.

The heart of the country

Fantastic experience from start to finish- thought I would stay at Magnolia Pitches based on all the fabulous reviews - and they weren’t wrong!! Becky was a brilliant communicator from the first email- rapid replies, a phone call the week before to answer any questions and recommend routes/things to do/places to eat. She was there to greet me- such a lovely warm greeting, Becky and her husband Paul couldn’t have been more helpful, found things I had left behind to make my stay more comfortable. The pitches are beautifully maintained and flat!! Lots of wild birds ( no pesky ones!) Masses of walks to be done and views to be seen! I just wish I could have stayed longer but fully intend on returning ! Thanks to my lovely hosts -I could not have asked for more!

We can only reiterate the previous reviews as to the excellence of Magnolia Pitches. We wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay if we find ourselves in the area again and recommend Paul & Becky as super hosts. Thank you.

An excellent find. Return stay for 2025 already booked!

We’ve just returned from our fortnight stay at Magnolia Pitches CL, Staunton, Gloucestershire. We booked last year after seeing the site recommended , and reading the excellent reviews. The owners Becky and Paul are excellent hosts and they are very hands on and welcoming. £18 per night with electricity on top that is charged at cost. Currently the unit rate of electricity is 23.838p /kWh. Once booked, if there is a change to the price per unit, Becky the owner will email you with an update. There are no shower or toilet facilities. The pitches are reinforced grass and have EHU, water taps and free WiFi. The CL is on a large, well tended and regularly cut grass paddock. There’s plenty of room to exercise your dogs, but they must be on a lead. You can pitch in any direction that suits you. We booked pitch number 3 and it was great for catching some rays. The weather was much better than expected too. There are recycling and waste bins along with the standard black and grey waste disposal points. Becky does have two hard standing pitches as alternatives if you prefer that to grass. They are next to the CL grass paddock. Only five pitches are occupied at one time out of the seven and while we were there, there was availability. It’s important to follow the travel directions and approach the CL from the right way. No issues with turning in to the CL, but if you make the wrong turning in to the lane, you have a greater distance to travel down a single width vehicle lane, than if you turn in to the lane from the other end. There is a fob activated gate at the entrance to the property. There is a local shop and a village hub that used to be a pub, but is now ran by volunteers. They aren’t open all the time, so you will need to check the opening times. They have a bistro ‘van’ on a Friday evening. While we were there we sampled the gourmet burgers. They were excellent. We sat in The Swan’s conservatory to eat along with a couple of beers. The hub is within a slow ten minute walk. There’s parking for those who may have walking difficulties. Staunton is a great place to use as a base to visit local attractions and to pop across the border in to Wales. We are members of EH, NT and HH and can always find something to do. EH members get free access to CADW sites. Castles, Tintern Abby and Chepstow were ticked off our list. Gloucester is a nice place to walk around and the Cathedral is worth a visit. Some Harry Potter and Sherlock scenes were filmed there. We were fortunate enough to get a private tour, quite by accident at Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester. It’s an EH property but is rented out to an events company and is only open on a Sunday if they have the staff. . We had a trip on the Dean Forest heritage railway too. We liked the CL site and area that much, we have booked to go back next year for another fortnight. Scroll down the site webpage for useful links, including an availability diary. https://magnolia-pitches.co.uk/

Great CL site

Magnolia Pitches is an excellent CL with fully serviced pitches. Field is flat so easy to set up, and many small touches to enhance the ease of use. Becky and Paul are very good hosts. A recommended site to visit.

Very Welcoming

Rebecca met us on arrival and we have never had such a warm welcome. She was profusely apologetic that there was no Wi-Fi due to recent work by BT who were denying it was their fault.. The Wi-Fi was back online at the end of our stay, BT had found a loose wire. This was a quiet peaceful site, perfectly placed to visit Tewkesbury, Upton on Severn and Ledbury all very interesting places to visit. Rebecca thank you for being such a wonderful host.
