We chose this CL as I lived close by when I was a student too many years ago!
The site is situated along a quiet country lane (approach the site from village if possible) and is as quiet as the lane, the only noise comes from the two donkeys and the horse. The donkeys and lovely old cob are very vocal and regularly let you know that they are there, which is a delight.
The only issue that I had was the disposal point for the toilet, which is an IBC tank (unmarked) with the access point in the centre of the tank which in my view is not only unsatisfactory but potentially dangerous as to steady yourself, you have to tread on the edge of the frame of the tank to empty the toilet waste.
However, taking into account the very low cost of the site and its tranquility, and the friendliness of owner, I wouldn't hesitate to return....and then there's the lovely donkeys and the horse!
Lovely CL
We would definitely recommend this CL.
Very quiet location and the owner is friendly.
Worth a stop just to meet Derek and Misty the donkeys.
Peaceful short stay site
Nice little site, basic facilities but had everything we needed. Electric is metered but this is not an issue and pitch price reflects the fact there is a meter and simple facilities. Good value for money. Really peaceful, nicely laid out and good easy access.
Would come again
Wonderful
We booked for a one night stay and then booked for the following night. This site is quite simply perfect as a CL site for us. Peaceful. Quiet, dog walks down the lane. Cycling route on single track with minimal cars, 2 rescue donkeys who are great company and one old horse who is lovely. A service station just down the road with Co op shop and cheap fuel. Also a pub down the road walking/cycling distance although we didn't use it. The owners are lovely people and just want their customers to have a really great time. £15 is an absolute steel for a night. Yes you have to feed a meter for electricity. We fed the meter £4 for 2 nights with our fridge on full time, using an air fryer three times, heating water for showers, lighting and TV. So again fabulous value for money.
Nice little CL
Have just enjoyed a couple of days at this lovely CL, the owners are friendly and stop for a chat the site is easy to get to and has all you want for a short stay at a CL. We will be returning very soon.
Peaceful
Lovely site with a warm welcome from the owner. Quiet, birdsong and the donkeys were entertaining too! Well kept site and within walking distance to the local pub.
A great find.
Disappointing
First impression when arriving at site was not so good as grass was very long with tyre ruts from inconsiderate caravaners on all the grassed edges, we had a two week stay, during this time the grass was never cut, the owners private lawned garden however was well kept and was cut while we were there. The hard standing pitches are long enough for most caravans but if like us you have a full awning then you will find the hard standing areas are only wide enough for a small porch awning, we did manage to get our awning up but was very difficult as all the pitches have grassed areas that bank up from the pitch making it impossible to site the awning correctly to the point where rain water collected in pools on the roof.
The recycling point consisted of two household size dustbins both were full when we arrived and weren't emptied for 3 days.
The toilet emptying facility left a lot to be desired, two large plastic carbouy containers with a centre access lid, a banking allowed for suitable height access but I found the reach to the centre awkward and the view into the container unpleasant with everybody's bits floating round.
We booked this site last year and was surprised to find electric meters fitted to all pitches, while we understand the reasons behind fitting meters we feel we should have been informed of the change should we have wanted to reconsider our booking, we did think that money in the meter didn't last very long.
Others users of this site were short stay and I think this site would be adequate for people traveling as it's only a short distance from motorway but for us 2 weeks was way too long.

lovely site
a great little site, very level, quiet and the strawberry's are lovely, their are stray cats where Suzanne ask us NOT to feed them
as it entices them to come on the c.l. field
we will be back again
Lovey weekend away
Stayed here for 3 nights for a quick weekend away. Very friendly owner, donkeys and horse too. Peaceful stay, within 20 mins walk of friendly pub in Walcote, down country lane. Went on local walks as well. Special thank you to the brother in law of the owner who rescued us when we had a mishap with our caravan shortly after leaving the site. Also nice that the owner called to see if we were ok and offer assistance. We have been before and will return again.
