Great place to chill out

We have been here for 4 nights and from the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The pitches are great sizes and hard standing so even when it rained the van stayed clean. Great spacious shower room and separate toilet, both exceptionally clean. Site is very clean and organised. Claire and Jon are so lovely and go the extra mile to help you. They are fantastic hosts. We took our 6 month old puppy and he was welcomed with open arms. We will definitely come back if we are in this area again. Couldn't fault it. Thank you so much, we loved our break with you both and Sammy ............Jayne Tony & Fonzy

Very welcoming.

Jon and Claire give a warm welcome and are a mine of information about local places. The access to the site is easy, the hard standing pitches are spacious with good views. Yes there is road noise but it did not bother us. The amount of birdlife is numerous. Watching the red kites was a bonus. There are limited walks. The small church in Snead is worth a visit. The walk into Bishops Castle was made interesting by coming across the elephant!!!! This site is a good find for us and hope to be back.

Lovely Weekend Stay

We stayed here last weekend and enjoyed a very peaceful and pretty location. Claire is an excellent host, friendly and very helpful. The site was very clean, tidy and easy to access. The Snead Barn furniture business has some of the nicest furniture I have seen and very reasonably priced. Thank you Claire and Jon for providing a lovely pitch for us to use. Will definitely return again later in the summer.

Lovely welcome

Easy access off A road for those who don't like lanes, this gives a little traffic noise, but nothing obtrusive. All hard standing, so great for autumn/winter/ spring visits. Owners friendly & helpful with leaflets on local area. Drive over waste for those with motorhomes. 2 miles walk into lovely Bishops Castle only a few mins on the A road then onto a quiet lane and then well walked field footpaths. NO CHARGE for dogs. We will definitely use again

A Great Find

Arrived at this site and was welcomed by John & Sally. Sally was very keen to show us where everything was and was available without being intrusive. This is a new CL site and I would definitely recommend. The toilet & shower are spotlessly clean. An earlier review mentioned that you only had 3 minutes for £1.00 so I went prepared, but honestly the water was running for a good five minutes with plenty of hot water which was easily controlled, you also had a chair available to place items on and 2 big hooks on the back of the door. This site isn't really suitable for young children as the pitches and surrounding area is made up of big stone chippings, ideal in wet weather. Difficult ground if you plan to erect an awning, but not impossible just come prepared with very strong metal pegs and a heavy mallet/hammer. There are beautiful views from the pitches and the field immediately in front of the pitch is frequented by cattle and sheep, also several Red Kites were flying frequently over the site. There is road noise, but as with everything else you get used to it; it certainly didn't disturb our sleep. There is a recycling system in place which is good in this day and age. There are plenty of places of interest to visit from here such as:- The lovely Powys Castle & its gardens. The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway. Farmers town of Bishops Castle where you will find a local brewery of Real Ales at The Three Tuns Inn & on a Saturday a flea market is held indoors. The small farmers towns of Newtown & Welshpool are nearby too. Shrewsbury is approx an hr away. I certainly would recommend this CL site and would visit again without hesitation. I wish Sally & John all the best with this new venture of theirs.

A gem of a site.

A gem of a site. A really wonderful site in a beautiful place. John and Sally are so welcoming and are there to make sure you enjoy the beauty of their site. They were at hand with any help you needed, but were never intrusive, perfect hosts. The views from the pitches is truly stunning. A very clean toilet and shower was available. Good area for walking and biking. Loved our stay here from start to finish.

Great spot for expolring

We stayed last weekend and found it great a spot to explore Bishops Castle and the Long Mynd on Mountain Bikes. The Borders is a really nice area to explore, so much to do and see, the views off the top of the Long Mynd are stunning. There's a glider club on top, so well worth a chill out to watch them flying. We had the CL to ourselves, nobody else booked on. Great shower (£1 for 3 mins) and clean toilets. Will be back to explore the area again for sure. Super friendly owners.

Well appointed CL with lovely views.

The friendly owners have provided a good shower and spotless toilet on this new site and they chatted to us at length about the many local attractions. There's plenty of room on the level gravel hardstandings and access from the road is good. It's been nice to watch the buzzards and kites soaring above the valley in front of the pitches. We've enjoyed cycling around the little lanes between Bishop's Castle and the Long Mynd hills without having to move our motorhome. The Crown Inn in Wentnor and the Castle Hotel in Bishop's Castle do lovely food.
