- A Lovely Spot -

Have stayed on this Site on a number of occasions in the past, and have always thoroughly enjoyed our visits there. Well spaced out pitches on 'hard-standing pavers', each having it's own tap. Superb FREE Wi-Fi. Very quiet and peaceful, with lovely 'green' scenery and a colourful wild-flower mound to look at and enjoy. 'The Bunk Inn' only a short walk away which does a lovely Sunday Roast - and Newbury, well worth a visit, only a short drive away.

Fantastic CL Site

Our first experience of staying on a CL site and hope they are all like this! Looking for a stopover site on way back home from Isle of Wight and was absolutely perfect. Followed directions as advised and it is 10 mins from M4/A34 and easy to find. Fantastic and tranquil location. Friendly and helpful on site on arrival and even took time to help out with our electric as we were having a few issues so came out with testing gear and lamps to isolate issue. Turns out it was user error and I had tripped a fuse in the caravan! Site lovely and spaced out and really impressed with EHU and water at each pitch. We were on a hardstanding but did notice grass was also available. Grandkids can absolutely validate the excellent quality of the WiFi - we even had the Amazon Fire stick connected Wanted to try the local pub (The Buck Inn) but was fully booked so will definitely be looking to return either for a weekend stay or another stop over to the south/south west Would definitely recommend 5*

Lovely, peaceful site

This was our third visit and we love the site. We take our two young dogs who have lots of lovely walks to explore. Red kites fly above us, woodpeckers, owls, muntjac deer and all manor of wildlife. Cycled into Thatcham and along the river and then explored some of the Wessex Downs. The owner, Brian is always welcoming and helpful. The site is peaceful and with easy access to major routes. The pitches are level and fully serviced with plenty of space for a large awning. We will be back!

Will be coming back

This site is just off M4 and a great stop over or weekend away. Access is via the route in the book past The Newbury agricultural show ground don’t try sat nav. The site is big lots of space for dogs etc. Pleasant owner no hassle. Ehu close and own water tap. The school next door empty’s out at 3.20 so avoid arrival then. Nice unmade road to walk up to upmarket pub very pleasant. I will be using this one in the future as it is a great place to stop over or stay for a while

A YARD MARK

Rhodeside sets the bar for CLs, I just wish you wouldn’t tell everyone! This is probably our 4th or so stay here and we are about to book up for another. Hosts great, spacious pitches with water, elec AND free wifi. Good recycling point and chem waste. The lane can be busy at times (road noise) but its fleeting. If you want a central Berks location to come back to peace and quiet after a day out or somewhere for cracking local walks, the this is one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent site

What a great site, rural yet only 10 minutes from the M4. We knew there was ehu but very impressed with water and free wifi on each pitch. Lovely local walks. We were visiting Newbury then going on to South Wales so this site was perfect. Agree with others to avoid arriving at school time but apart from that made to feel very welcome.

Very nice extended stay

I stayed on this site for work purpesses for a total of 4 weeks. The only thing that i can mark the site down for against peace and tranquility is that you are situated in the field next to the road, although i aknowlege this may not be within the sites control and there was very little traffic (Non main road) The site was extremely well maintained and the grass was well cut back. Each pitch had its own water suppy and there was Wifi at every electric point giving excellent signal coverage. There was one incidence of crime during my stay at the site and the security system damage, the owner was very reactive to this and proactivly had system restored very quickly the site gate is also lockable. There is a pub within walking distance although i found to be a little steep in price, there is a local fuel station within 4 miles by car where you can also change gas bottles. There is a number of biways that you can walk arround, there is also lots of hourse riding in the area. I found that the sites water dranage to be good with no concern of getting stuck. the loactions where the caravans are parked on are of a block paved strip area making pitching very easy and the block paving extended to where the caravan legs extended. I would be very happy to return to this site even for holiday purpases.

Brill

So, the only down side to this lovely site (as mentioned by a previous member) don’t arrive around 3pm as the local school parents park CLOSE to the entrance and unless you have a wee Motorhome you just can’t get in. Other than that, idyllic. Owners friendly but not in your face. Close to many attractions and a short walk from a great country pub that does meals and is fog friendly Whilst £18 per night may be a bit steep for a CL without a loo block, this one does come with free wifi and a great location

Quiet site and pleasant hosts

We used the site for 3 nights in the height of summer. It was quiet and pleasant. Flat and easy for setting up. Loads of space for ease of getting the van onto its pitch. Running water and power immediately next to the van. The tranquillity as special and the site is easily accessed from the M4 and A34 Will definitely return.
