Nice site with beautiful views over the hills from each pitch. Â Toilets were being worked on whilst we were here so ladies and gents had to share the gents....not a problem though.
Some folk have complained about the "traffic" to and from the livery yard behind the site...we did not find it a problem, in fact, it was nice to see the horses being led in and out of the paddocks and out for exercise etc.Â
Very "handy" for the southern Peak District, if you need it there's an Asda about a 5-10 minute walk away.
I'd definitely return but then again I'm not as "picky" as some!
all good except loo
brilliant site its the first time we have been here. Nice welcome and lovely spot to stay in. its not far to leek from here and we walked to the town that evening. The only issue was the loo, the toilet it self was clean, but the room needs a bit of attention, otherwise ok.
Easy access and stunning views
We spent seven nights here in early August 2013. Very straightforward access off the A45, 1km north of Leek town centre. Moss Rose pub (recommended) just across the road, 20 minutes to Buxton. Exceptional views north over The Roaches and Morridge. Five hardstanding pitches medium to small but well kept, as was the surrounding grass. Large overhanging trees at the back of the pitches made them a little dark. Warm and friendly welcome from Scott on the evening of our arrival; although no one actually responsible for the CL onsite.
There has been some discussion here regarding the toilets. Firstly, I feel a toilet on a CL is a bonus. The gents’ wc basin and handbasin were clean throughout the week, handwash and toilet paper were provided. The actual room was scruffy and dusty but it was fine to use. My OH said the ladies wc was disgusting on the Sunday night we arrived and she refused to use it. I checked the ladies on the Monday evening and they had been cleaned and OH was happy to use them for the rest of the week.
It is possible that the ladies wc has heavy use over a weekend, when the majority of visitors to the adjacent livery appear to be ladies? If this is the case, it could it explain the conflicting comments regarding toilets?
We loved Leek and the surrounding countryside and intend to use this CL again.

1st June 2013
Agree with the good points listed by others.
No showers. The toilets are tired and a little bit scruffy but the actual toilet and wash hand basin were very clean.
Owner visits to collect money and give out keys for the toilets at 6.30pm....he is available on the phone at other times.

Great location
Second time we've stayed here and it's perfect for walking into Leek and exploring this lovely little town. Near to Tittesworth reservoir which is lovely to walk round as are the nearby stunning Roaches. Unfortunately this time the constant livery stable traffic got to be annoying and the toilets were disgusting, perhaps because it's early in the season and they haven't got their act together yet but it's a pity and will put us off visiting a third time.
Most beautiful view!
We stayed at Roach house Farm for three nights this summer. Very good hardstanding pitches with Electric hookups all landscaped and lots of trees. Water, showers and toilets on site. We were given a very warm welcome by the owners, Brian & Scott. The uninterrupted view from the CL across the valley is wonderful and although close to the main road from Buxton to Leek, it is very quiet. The main business of the farm is a livery stables so expect cars going in and out all day and lovely horses too!
We will definitely go back as it is very central to the Peak District Park. The best CL we have visited to date!

Perfect CL
We stayed at this CL for the first time in late May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This site is sheltered and on hardstanding with lovely views across the valley to the surrounding hills.
The site is well maintained and is easily accessible being just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Leek.
The area has plenty to offer whatever you like to do with the Roches, Tittesworth Reservoir and leek itself all on hand.
We will definately be returning to a lovely little CL in a great area
