Lovely CL

There was no contact with the owners face to face but messages asking of our well being were received and if we needed anything. The website was fully comprehensive referencing eateries , beaches and places of interest , any questions that were asked were answered promptly. If you like takeaways you do have to travel , 20 to 30 mins . The site was immaculate , short grass cut by Merve the robotic mower . Fully serviced pitches even waste pipe supplied .Peaceful site with the sea in the foreground loved it , Will return .

A perfect CL in a great location with sea views from the site.

A perfect CL in a great location with sea views from the site. Pitches are large, well spaced and serviced by water & waste. The owners were friendly a helpful but not intrusive. Lovely walks from the site along the Cleveland Way with beautiful views towards Robin Hoods Bay and beyond. Good views of the Ravenscar seals from cliff. We had a lovely restful and peaceful week and will definitely return.

Beautifully groomed peaceful location

Beautifully groomed peaceful location with level pitches with EHU and on pitch water and drain. Great for cycling and walking. Lovely walks to Robin Hood’s Bay, short walk to the Ravenscar seals and a short cycle down the road to the traffic free Cinder Track cycle path running between Whitby and Scarborough.

Super site

A quite outstanding CL, in a stunning location, really well placed for visiting this beautiful coastline from Flamborough Head to Staithes. All pitched are fully serviced, and within easy reach of the toilet emptying station. A silly joy is watching Merv, the robot grass mower, wandering around the site within his defined limits, and trying to avoid the picnic tables. Every morning, we could hear a cuckoo in the nearby trees. It's a short walk down into Ravenscar with its glorious views, including a huge colony of seals. A great short walk is up the hill past the aerial mast to 'Ron's Bench' which has the best views of any bench we have ever used, down across Robin Hood's Bay. The Hayburn Wyke pub in Cloughton is excellent, with great food.

Peace and Tranquility

We spent 9 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site was peaceful and tranquil, with the lovely sounds of bird song only very occasionally interrupted by traffic on the adjacent road. The site is kept well mown thanks to the owners and their nifty robot mower. Having water and grey waste to each pitch is fabulous. Some great walks out onto the moor from the nearby track and a fabulous view point overlooking Robin Hood's bay just up the road. Great to have the Wi-fi too All in all a great CL Will be back

Jury is still out........

I do not disagree with comments from previous reviewers about the Cl's: peace and tranquility, ambience beautiful scenery access to walks tap, grey water waste and EHU all on the pitch, excellent WiFi and telephone signal and have given it 5 for all the above aspects. However, the pitches were tired and not in the best condition. Whether this is because we were at the end of the season or the field does not drain well or whether members had not lifted their awnings as it clearly states and destroyed the grass I am not sure. One is asked to park between two green flags which is not a problem. However there was a large area between the flags that was basically bare earth with plastic grid embedded in it. No grass. As it had been raining prior to our stay it was muddy and was impossible to not bring mud and grit into the caravan. I can't see where we could have put up an awning if we had wanted to. Like a previous reviewer we too do not want to be 'bothered' by owners. This site seems to take it to the extreme. We never saw the owners except one morning we think it was him on a sit on mower to cut the grass on the next pitch. There was no acknowledgement of our presence. Everything is done remotely by phone or email when booking or contacting while on site. A notice states 'There is no door for you to knock on'. We enjoyed our stay but disappointed with the quality of the pitch.

Perfect

Lovely location, peaceful, well spaced, beautifully kept CL field. Each pitch has its own grey water drain and water supply and EHU. WiFi is true super fast broadband connection. Absolutely perfect.

Fantastic fully serviced site

We booked here last minute. The process was easy through their online booking system. When we arrived we just drove in a pitched up at our chosen spot. We didn't see the owners until our last day but that suited us just fine -- we were happy not to be disturbed with CL site owners knocking on the door asking for money! Truly felt like we were in touch with nature. Views were wonderful and it is situated perfectly for trips to Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay. The nearby Cinder Track is a great walk. When we head back to the East coast, we will be checking in here again for sure. WiFi was only an extra pound a night too. The perfect CL site for us.

Glorious CL site with stunning scenery

Stayed here for 6 nights and would definitely go back. Site is immaculate and despite being high up with wonderful views it seemed sheltered from the wind. For cyclists there the cinder track cycle path is nearby with easy access to miles of off road cycling and almost exactly half way between Scarborough and Whitby it is remote whilst still in easy reach of places to visit. The owners were really friendly and welcoming and we can't recommend this site enough. As usual I've created a short video which can describe the site much better than I can with words feel free to watch it here. https://youtu.be/BL0MKwUNJcc
