On the good side Starney Bay is in a beautiful area. The five pitches are well spaced out and all are serviced. On the down side the hard-standing surface is awful. It’s some kind of black fine grit that gets everywhere and is even worse when wet. There are no showers or toilets and although pre-warned about this the cost of the site is £25 a night, which is quite steep given that other sites with showers etc charge less. The electricity is really hard to turn on and we had to seek help from the people on the next pitch who said they’d also found this difficult. It rained while we were there which knocked the electric off completely, however this was caused by an act of nature. Lovely site, but the black grit and steep price has put us off from returning.
