Enough room for four units

Pleasant views out to sea and agricultural fields to the rear, the site is alongside a narrow lane with occasional fast-moving traffic. This is quite possibly the smallest CL we have ever stayed at. Each pitch has EHU and by default the water tap, grey waste and CDP are only a few yards away. Three of the pitches are of an acceptable spacing however we were sandwiched between the entrance and another van and the space between us was just 4m. Our neighbours pitch did not have sufficient room for an awning or canopy because of a tree and with just 4m of space between us and them we were also unable to put up our canopy. Priced at a competitive £18 per night but realistically this CL should only be licenced for four units.

Tight site.

Best described as a ‘garden site’, very small and tightly packed, vans very close to each other.

Friendly and relaxing

Visited this site several times, friendly welcome from Mike as usual. Very relaxing, good beaches nearby and good shops in Buckie. Mike's closing CL over this winter but we hope he decides to reopen next year.

Amazing site

We stayed for 10 nights at the end of July/beginning of August and will definitely be going back, if Mike continues. It's a small site but so long as you have facilities in your van for toilet and showering the site provides everything else you need. We were met by Mike on our arrival, what a lovely man, very friendly and helpful. Allowed us to site our van to enjoy the views across the Moray, and wow what views they are. The site itself is very peaceful with little to no noise from any roads. The only noise was from the building of the house just across the lane, but even that wasn't too intrusive. Due to sad circumstances the site wasn't very busy throughout our stay, which made it even more peaceful for us. Mike even took the time to come and say goodbye when hitching up and leaving. One bit of advice when arriving don't come up through the village as the turn into the site may be a little sharp, however coming off of the A98 and down the lane you have straight access in.

Picturesque views.

Myself and Susan spent 12 day's at Sunnybrae. We didn't want to leave. It's been the best long trip to date. We had glorious weather and the views are stunning. We managed to see Bottle Nose Dolphins on the final 2 nights which was another bonus. We hope to return if Mike decides to stay open (sorry for your loss buddy) you are a gentleman and thank you for honouring our booking. Love Tim & Sue

Fabulous little site with helpful and friendly owners. Couldn’t ask for more.

I visited Sunnybrae in my little Campervan (with my dog) at the tail end of 2022. It was a perfectly positioned site for my needs with beautiful views and it was so calm and tranquil. The site is within walking distance of the local town and not far from the beautiful beach of Cullen and stunning cliffs and rock formations in and around Portknockie. As well as local stores there is a large supermarket nearby in Buckie where you can stock up on supplies and fuel. The owners couldn’t have been more kind and helpful, especially when I accidentally locked my keys (and dog!!) in my van. They took me in and looked after me so well whilst I was waiting for the AA to arrive. I can’t thank them enough for that. The single track road (with passing points) which leads to the site was very quiet so there was very little disturbance from passing vehicles. The site was very clean and tidy with a useful shed for site and tourist information. Sunnybrae is definitely on my list of sites to revisit when I next venture to Scotland. It gets five stars from me.

See the Northern Lights!

We stayed on site for 4 nights and Mike was very welcoming and allowed us to pick our pitch. We walked into Findochty and had a walk around - stopped for a drink in the local pub. The site is small and unique and has all of the facilities you need, as long as you are a self contained unit. TV reception was good, as was the addition of having access to wifi (free of charge). There is an information shed on site with a book exchange. This is a good site with views across the Moray and great to be able to see the northern lights from our pitch.

Nice little CL

Stayed here for one night in early May '22. The owner made us very welcome & was informative. The pitches were a little on the small side but adequate. Enjoyed the walk down to the harbour.

Needs updting

Site is in a lovely location, beautiful views across out to sea. Sadly it needs updating. There are really only 4 pitches of decent size, 1 seems to be in the driveway, it’s very rutted in places, just needs so some maintenance because it wouldn’t be much fun in the rain. There is a bench apparently “ sunset view “ but sadly all covered in green mould with old dead trees and long grass, sadly not of any use to sit and enjoy a bbq and watch sunset. The noise from the small road which runs by is constant making it not relaxing to read, seems to be a rat run to the beach or the lower coast road. The brown waste area needs just tiding with a longer piece of hose to rinse around top of concrete disposal area. The owner was nice and the little book shed useful. Village was lovely. Such a shame don’t think we will return.

Great Find at FINDochty!

Having read of it in a club magazine touring review, enjoyed our stay with Mike & Brenda on this well-located site just a ten-minute walk from a small former fishing village. (Discovering I'd once lived on the same street as Mike in Leeds in the early 80's was an amazing coincidence!) A very warm and attentive welcome from Mike and an information hut with tourist leaflets and books to borrow. Great view across to the sea and sunset. The hard standing was rather stoney and uneven, to be honest, and the site a little compact. Very good access to the site from the minor road but it did mean there was a reasonable amount of local traffic. Able to walk the dog along the track and down to the village - good food at the Admiral. A bonus to have a good wifi signal - until somebody turned up in their campervan with a powerful router which cut across the signal - not the site's fault! Very handy for coastal trips, excellent value at £15 per night and would recommend.
