Lovely site.

What a stunning location. We had a superb week. Weather couldn’t have been better. Our 3 dogs were made to feel so welcome. We chose our own pitch. No need to take the car as walks directly from site. Great written directions from Peter to the Beach. A list of local amenities also welcome. Easy access to all the island but so tranquil. The dog walk was the best we have experienced. My young collie and I even had an agility lesson with Peter which was fantastic. Will we return - we sure will. Thank you Peter and family..

Weekend visit

We chose this site based on the owners comment as being very dog friendly. We were not disappointed, we along with our four legged friend were made to feel very welcome. We had the choice of pitch we wanted. The dog exercise area is more than ample, even our sprollie found the area more than ample, (quite a few acres). The option to be able to get some organized agility training for our dog was brilliant. We got a very informative information sheet showing local beaches, these are worth following. On a very busy Saturday with the sun shining we were the only people on the stretch of beach we were recommended. Would we go again.... YES

May 2021

Having read other reviews, yes there are dogs both resident and visiting but we did not find this a problem at all although our neighbour (and only other visitor at the time) only had 2 well behaved dogs which is less than some other visitors seem to have. Good information provided beforehand and owners very nice. Facilities are basic but you get what you pay for.

we love this site

we returned to this site ( August Bank Holiday) after a break of 5 years. The Roberts family are so welcoming. Our dog ( a springer spaniel) is very nervous of other dogs, however we didn't have any problems, even thow there was a number of dogs around. Lovely CL with plenty of space, and a delightful dog walk. we enjoyed the daily walk to the town and the beach, across the Common and Golf course. we hope to return again.

Dog friendly close to stunning clean dog friendly beaches

Mr & Mrs Roberts gave us a warm welcome and provided a very informative local data sheet. The site is every dog friendly, as we were made aware on booking by telephone. We already knew this information, as we have been to the site in the past. There is occasional dog barking, as dogs do, but never in the silent hours and to be honest the planes make more noise !! The dog walk area is all perimeter fenced and there are well maintained cut paths through the grass area. Close to stunning dog friendly clean beaches, this site is idea for those who holiday with their pets. A site we have visited twice and will continue to use in the future.

Really enjoyed our stay...

We rang saturday evening on a bank holiday weekend and luckily were accommodated due to an cancellation. We were given a warm welcome by the friendly owner. The site was peaceful. Our neighbouring caravan had seven dogs but they were friendly owners and well behaved dogs. The site has all the facilities of a CC site at a low cost. We had two days of glorious sunshine followed by a say of rain. I'd recommend this site as it is welcoming, peaceful and has all you could need. The owner kindly let our 15 year old son go into his garden to see his chicken as he loves chickens!

Brilliant site ignore what others say

Absolutely fantastic site if you are dog lovers and your pets enjoy going caravaning. Site was clean ,facilities more than adequate and the welcome very warm and friendly. Really great for the dogs wonderfull excersise fields with plenty of space for hundreds of dogs. If you live in the country you expect to be woken the sound of animals. Great dog friendly beaches within minutes away, often just to yourself. Hoping to return again this year- really shouldn't have written this review as will be cross if it is booked up when we want to go

Dog friendly yes, but also noisy and filthy

We stayed here last June, we were asked if we were aware that the site was 'very' dog friendly. Accepting this description we didn't realise that dog friendly meant unruly, barking dogs. We were surrounded by them, owners, another site next door and fellow caravanners. We had booked for five nights and after two we left. There was an individual on this site who had 11 dogs, yes that is right 11 in a van. One escaped and attacked our small cocker bitch. The owners also shovel dog feaces to the edge of their field so don't park on their boundary. The owners dogs continually bark, one grumbled and yapped all night. It was torturous. They also had kennel cough while we were there. I love dogs but I don't want to hear them all day. The site is lovely, the dog walk is great as are the walks off site. But I am not a fan of misbehaved, noisy animals. We have three of our own dogs and yes of course they will bark, but not 24/7, and not unchecked, if they are told to be quiet they respect this command. The shower had a resident toad and was a little heath robinson. A fellow caravanner booked by facility a showere being her criteria as her caravan doen't have on, she didn't use the on-site shower! I am sure many will take umbridge at this review but I cannot condone, while on holiday the continual, yapping and counter yapping of canines in response to each other. The dog walk did have a resident grumpy horse, he didn't bother me but took a dislike to my husband, thank god he is a farmer and isnt bothered by unpleasant animals.

Probably THE most dog-friendly CL

We've visited twice and will return. Its a lovely site in a lovely area off the beaten track but not that far from places of interest and beaches. The CL itself is large but the add-on area with paths through marshland down to a little river is many acres in extent. This is the dog walking area, but dogs abound here and members' dogs can wander freely (off the lead) on and off the site. There are dog agility and flyball classes available. The nearby beaches (10 minute's drive) are spectacular and there are no dog restrictions on them. One warning - this is a site for dog-lovers so those who are not should, perhaps, look elsewhere. The other thing to be aware of is that the site is close to an RAF airfield so there is some noise from time to time. The upside is that plane-watching can be quite interesting and flying appears to be confined mostly to daytime and weekdays. A VERY highly recommended site with welcoming and caring owners.
