Quiet peaceful stay
We had a weeks stay here and the site is certainly peaceful and quiet. The site itself is large, with plenty of space inbetween pitches, with a lovely lake all of which are kept very neat and tidy. The owners do provide storage but this is screened from view and you do pass through another small camping area called The Bothy on the approach. You also pass through an area of the farm where there are a few commercial units but this in no way impeded or marred our enjoyment of the site. As others have said there is a very well appointed shower and toilet block. Kept immaculately clean and you are given a key to gain private access, this is just a short 5 minute stroll back up through the approach road. The shower is an additional £1 for 6 minutes of hot water. The roads this to site are incredibly narrow, and certainly not for the feint hearted, there are few passing places and most would not accommodate a car and caravan so you are left to hope that any oncoming traffic are only cars and that they will do the reversing! I would certainly heed the owners advice of timing your arrival to miss the lunchtime traffic visiting the local pub, 'The Linney', (which by the way is an excellent place to eat and not to be missed but remember to book in advance, it is incredibly popular). On the day we left the site a fellow caravanner was also leaving, we went first and when we reached the top of the narrow lane, before it meets up with the main road, we actually stopped, rang the other people waiting to come up to give them the all clear, and stopped any traffic from going down the lane until they too had reached the top, this worked well and certainly eased any traffic congestion.
In summary, this is a quiet, peaceful, tranquil site, well looked after in lovely grounds, and with good facitlites and close to many touorist attractions and places to visit. If we are ever in the area again we would certainly return.
