Disappointing
Recently visited this CL and would make the following observations, in case they might assist others when thinking of using it. Firstly the access is not easy, off the lane, but a gate with a code not far enough back for you to get your outfit off the road, which is on a bend and narrow, so rather dangerous. On arrival, only two sets of electric points, one of which is broken, which makes it limiting in siting the van. The most disappointing thing about the site is that it is absolutely covered in goose Pooh, and I mean covered. You will walk it into your van, awning, car etc, it’s everywhere. The geese wander up from a rather overgrown lake at the end of the CL. In addition the site is in a triangle between two roads, and is therefore quite noisy, certainly not a peaceful spot, as the local boy racers seem quite enthusiastic in their use of the roads around the site. At £25 a night it’s not cheap for what it is, and I for one certainly would not return.
Comment from the Club:
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We appreciate all comments, whether positive or negative, as they help us improve our services.
We understand your concerns regarding road noise. While we acknowledge that there may be some level of noise, our CL adviser who regularly checks the CL Site believes it is not to the extent that it would cause major disturbance. Nonetheless, we are sorry you felt it disturbed your enjoyment of the site but hope you are reassured by the other reviews that have also expressed it has not been an issue for them.
There are 2 hook up points, one with 2 x connections and one with 3 x connections. Just one connection had been blown by a previous visitor, leaving 4 still working.
With regards to the lake, our CL Inspector has advised that it has always been a peaceful clean area to sit and enjoy a picnic,so we are sorry that you didn't find it so. .
As for the presence of bird droppings, we recognise that the beautiful natural environment surrounding the site's establishment may attract birds, making it challenging to completely eliminate this issue. In this case they had a flock off 30 Canadian geese visit the lake. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
We hope this has helped address your concerns.
