Last minute find

We at to change our plans at the last minute due to arrival of a new grandson ,tried the new cl booking site and came across this little gem only booked the week before . Arrived on the Thursday and the owner was waiting for me with gate open a nice wide entrance a friendly greeting and told we could pitch were we wanted as only ones on for the weekend. Why we were the only ones on is other people’s loss as water to every pitch A nice level field with sheep next door , a big field behind to walk dogs the owners are very friendly but leave you in peace but there if you need them .they do own a Airbnb next door so added advantage if want non caravaners to join you . Plenty of places to visit downham market is a attractive little town and we found a nice walk down a old railway line at March a few miles away . A lovely relaxing weekend.

We thought it a hidden gem

We were seeking a good base for Geocaching in Downham Market and the surrounding area, Whitehead farm ticked all the boxes. John and Jackie were very welcoming and were full of local knowledge, always ready to answer any questions we might have and generally make it a lovely three week stay with them. The large lawned site is well maintained, water to each pitch with electric hook ups at hand. The waste disposal point is very hygienic with hand sanitizer strategically placed as required. The information shed has local maps, books and games and suggested trips out if that’s your thing. The dog walk is a pooches paradise so a Cockapoo told us. Sensible pricing and the location brought us here, we certainly hope to be back sometime in the near future. Almost forgot to mention the farm shop here! The sausages are delicious and we timed our stay nicely for the delicious asparagus too.

Just as good

Just spent another week at this lovely site. As always, the welcome from Jackie and John cannot be faulted. The weather was glorious, the amount of birdsong was unbelievable and the piece and quiet was just what we needed. The site is as immaculate as ever and the "dog walk" was much appreciated. A map around it would have been helpful but it was manageable with my sat nav. The dog loved it too. (Private joke). We have stayed here a number of times and cannot fault it. If you want to stay in Fenland, give it a try. You won't regret it. Thanks for the loan of the household appliance, we will see you again as soon as we can. Steve, Jackie and Blue

A Place To Breathe

As fairly new Motorhomers we of course left it very late to book up the May bank holiday - but managed to find this little gem of a place. The owners Jackie and John we so welcoming to us -we genuinely felt that they were happy to meet us. They are friendly but not intrusive and seemed to sense when you wanted to chat and when you just wanted to chill. Great enclosed paddock for walking the dog off lead. Level grass pitches - very well maintained site. We didn't venture too far afield as we wanted (needed) to relax and chill out. The weather was incredible which always helps! Good phone signal (also helps!!) Jackie & John work so hard and it pays off. Such good value for money. We will definitely return.

A lovely little Bank Holiday break

We have just returned from a really lovely weekend break at Whitehead Farm. The site is beautifully maintained, all the facilities you could need and in a great location. Jackie and John were brilliant hosts, who couldn't have been more welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. The real highlights were the little 'farm shop'' at the entrance selling local produce, in particular their home grown asparagus and Jackie's home baked cakes (you have to try the Lemon Drizzle!!). Also the onsite fire pit was a real winner, you can even buy a fire pit kit with wood and fire lighters. But the biggest bonus was how dog friendly the site was, our Cockapoo had the best weekend of her life. We can't wait to come back very soon!!

Lovely welcome

Managed to get a pitch after a late notice cancellation. Jackie and John very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Lovely and peaceful, clean and spacious. All pitches have EHU and water plus grey/black water facilities. It was our first CL site and we really enjoyed it. Easy to get out to beaches (about 1 hr drive away) places to eat nearby, lots of lovely countryside and pleasant undulating roads, not much traffic. Will definately return. Our girls loved making a leaf to leave for your tree in the information office. Donna, Ged, Daisy & Ruby

Fantastic site

What a gem of a site we found. John and Jackie made us(and our dog Abbie) feel so welcome. Site so peaceful and facilities excellent. And you must try the freshly laid eggs and their homemade sausages, Jam is delicious too. We loved having our chats and their helpful advise about the area.We will be back. Deb & Dave Henderson

A Great Find ...

Discovered this gem of a CL when others nearer the coast were full up. John and Jackie made us all (two grown ups, two younger people and the dog) feel very welcome and at home, with friendly and helpful chat and recommdations of places to visit. Fantastic facilities with lawned grass and no extra cuttings, water and electric to each pitch, easy to use disposal and rinse point, recycling and composting, an information shed with extra craft activities and games, and highly recommended home produce, especially the sausages and jam! Almost reluctant to write this review, because we will definitely return and want there to be enough space for us!

Satisfied campers!!

Having phoned to see if the site had a pitch, after arriving at another very waterlogged site,(not a caravan and motorhome site!!), we arrived to a very warm welcome from Jackie and John. We liked the fact that all pitches had both electric and water hook-ups. The site was lovley and peacefull and we were kept amused by the solitary little lamb annoying it's mum in the next field. The eggs and sausages (home made) for sale at Jackie and Johns road side shop were beautiful and they could not have been more helpfull, even towing us of the site when I got stuck in the soft ground when leaving. We will definitely be returning again when next in the area. Russ & Deirdre Flemming.

Just what we needed

Just arrived home after staying at this CL for the first time. A long journey for us (8 hrs to get home) but the wife has relatives in the area and I know that we will be staying here again, as the welcome from Jackie and John was great. The weather ( February! ) was a real bonus, but the site was everything I could have asked for. There were sheep in fields on two sides of us, chickens in a run ahead of us and an open field on the other side of us. Bliss. The eggs that were on sale were gorgeous and we've brought some sausage's home to try as well. There's a fair distance to travel from the site to reach the main towns etc, but that's the nature of the landscape and those " big open skies" are spectacular. I would recommend a stay here to anyone, so long as you don't expect bright lights ( except for the stars and sunsets ) and are able to cope without a wc/shower. Thank you for your welcome and being a truly nice couple. Will see you again.
