First But Definitely Not Last Visit

What a lovely site, very well kept, well laid out everything you want. Easy booking, very easy access and board to tell you where to pitch, we had pitch 4 which was big enough for caravan awning and car, electric points nearby and all other facilities close by as well. Plenty to do in the surrounding area from walking to cycling and Chester for your shopping fix, also local village only about 1 mile away for pubs, takeaways, coffee shop (Alisons. recommend their bacon butties). All in all a lovely holiday and a site we will definitely return to.

Lovely CL

Friendly, peaceful and well kept site. It was easy to book online and then good communication received from Rachel giving links to places to visit and eat. There is a small info. room and books to borrow for walks on the Sandstone Trail. Milk, eggs and jams are available with an honesty box and there are many farm shops nearby. The local Ice Cream Farm looks a nice attraction for families but you currently have to use the drive through to be able to get an ice cream and the marina cafe up the lane doesn’t open until 17th May which Rachel kindly checked for us. I haven’t used the facilities block as using my own. There are lovely walks from the site along the canal and it’s an easy drive in to Chester or to the zoo. We will definitely return as there is so much ch to do in the area.

Beautiful and well kept site.

Grant and Rachel are friendly and helpful owners giving tips of places to visit. Ice cream factory a short walk away but due to corvid restrictions only drive through allowed, the ice cream is available at the local shop about a mile away.Lots of walks in surrounding area and helpful guides and maps are to be found in the clean toilet block. Showers at the present closed. Good dog walks in surrounding fields. We ordered a breakfast pack which was well worth it . The entrance to the site is the second one coming past the ice cream factory. We will definitely go again.

A lovely July break

We stayed at Yew Tree Farm for five night In July 2020. Good access to the site but keep your eyes peeled for the sign unless you want to practice your reversing! We received a warm and helpful reception from owners Grant and Rachel. Our breakfast pack comprising Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Milk, Bread, Butter and Jam was ready for us. Shower was closed due to coronavirus but the toilet facilities were always kept clean. The site was very well maintained. An excellent base to explore the local area, particularly walking on and around the Sandstone Trail. Good local pubs / restaurants. Certainly a site to which we will return with so much to offer in the area.

Can recommend

Can recommend this site. Easy access through the farm. Nice welcome from owners who were on hand throughout our stay if needed. Clean site and farm. 3 newly laid hard standings and 2 grass pitches which were shortly cut. EHU to all pitches. Hand gel provided outside toilets and bins. Showers not open due to Covid risk. Lots to see in area. Info leaflets , maps and books in information room. About 20 mins drive to Chester.

The weather does help

Just returned from Yew Tree after a wonderful 10 days. Entry to the site is easy so not to worry and Grant will give you a hand siting the van if you need help but if there are vans already on the site you may need a long power cable. The pitches are well tended the grass is cut and collected after each visit. The walks in the area are a bit hit or miss if you want to use a footpath some don't look to have been used for years and are overgrown. Didn't see Racheal she was having to keep the weight off her leg after been bitten by a Horsefly ( feel like a song coming on). We visited lots of National Trust sites whilst in the area (Scottish Membership). Some traffic noise from the road plus the railway plus the plains on certain days but you grow accustomed to it. If you are using Sat nav check to see it isn't sending you down a road called Corkscrew Lane twice we had to go down it luckily without the van. Steve

What a great little CL

We stayed here for 7 nights from 09/06/2019, great welcome from the site owners on arrival, helped us pitch up & pointed out the facilities locations, WC & shower room (always kept spotless), paper & hand soap supplied. Fresh eggs, milk, orange juice available to purchase. Unfortunately during our stay the British weather did its best to spoil our break, dropping two months of rain over 2 days. The owners had plenty of issues of their own to sort out preventing their own property from flooding, but this did not affect the service & support offered to the campers on the CL, they stayed upbeat & friendly, during what must of been very difficult times for them & their family, the CL was not left neglected, in any way whatsoever. Due to the heavy rain, when it was time to leave our large Motorhome had become stuck in the field, but no issue, the owner patiently pulled us out onto the hard standing, even allowing us to wash our wheels off with his pressure washer prior to leaving. Now we all know how miserable the great British weather can make a caravaners life, but Grant & Rachel made this break a five star experience with their great little CL, & friendly, but very professional attitude......thank you both for a great stay.

Could not fault anything

We stayed at this site over the Mayday bank holiday weekend, and I have to say....What a find! Rachel and her family were very welcoming. The site was immaculate, grass cut short and trimmings collected so no bits of grass in the awning or caravan. The site is sheltered on the one side with tall trees, that have an an absolute abundance of birds to watch. Although we didn't use the shower or toilets, they were 5 star, very clean, (we had our own in the caravan before anyone comments LOL) There is also a fridge stocked with eggs, milk and orange juice with an honesty box. The usual waste disposal facilities, but the best bit for me was the high pressure on the water supply that filled the water carriers up in seconds. Literally a 5 minutes walk is the Ice cream Farm, and the village is a few minutes in the car and a very good Spa shop. It was that good I booked again for the Whitsun BH weekend whilst we were still there. There is plenty to see an do in the area. Absolutely brilliant! Mark

Relaxed and comfortable CL with lots to do in the area

Recently visited this newish CL on a trip to Cheshire and Yorkshire....what a find! Easy access for our large caravan and a fantastic welcome from the young owners who certainly know what a CL should provide. Reasonably priced with clean toilets (2) and a shower, level pitching for your caravan or camper and electric hook up at 16amps. Easily accessible chemical toilet and waste water disposal. Dogs welcome, with the pitching area securely fenced. A walk through the fields soon has you on the canal where you can head for the centre of Chester or Beeston Castle if you are feeling fit, with refereshments to be found on the way. Lots to do in the area including Chester City for shopping, it’s Zoo, and Racecourse. Cheshire Oaks Outlet (more shopping!) or even the Clwydian Hills for bracing walks. Talking to other campers who had travelled up from the South they were surprised at how much there was to do in the area and they had not even been to the Ice Cream farm just down the road! We will be back as we didn’t have enough time to do everything, if you go best to ring ahead as it was very popular when we there.
