A good stay for us

We stayed for 3 nights for our first visit here (full afterwards so could not extend) and enjoyed our stay. Castleton has lots of good eateries and the bakery/general store/ice cream parlour is great - especially their pasties and rolls. We had some nice walks, with plenty of choice from the site. We didn't have our dog on this occasion but will bring him next time. I'm sure he'd enjoy the countryside as much as we did, even if has to squeeze through some of the stiles! We had a difficult journey to the site (from the east) as the directions warned about taking the caravan through Winatts Pass and detoured around until we found the road mentioned in the site directions, only to learn later that the Pass is actually west of the site and that we wouldn't have had to navigate it in any case. Ah well, lesson learned for next time. We would recommend this site: it's well located and well run, neat and tidy and up to the usual Club standards. We didn't notice any real issues with road noise as mentioned by some reviewers and we were on a serviced pitch near the entrance. Perhaps the traffic was just light during our stay. Might be worth including directions to the site from east of the M1 though.
