Fabulous Half Term Break

We stayed at this site during the half term school holiday. It is a really lovely site that is in an ideal location for families. Nene Park is within easy access & has lots to offer from great walks, children's playground, cycle routes, a mini railway & even a café. We walked from the site into Peterborough which only took us 1 hour walking at a normal pace, had a walk around the wonderful cathedral & the shopping centre. We were then able to catch a steam train back to Ferry Meadows which was lovely & the kids really enjoyed it. Facilities were clean and we did find the wardens very helpful. A fantastic site that we will visit again.

Half term break

We enjoyed our half term break at ferry meadows, staying for 4 nights here . The toilet block was cleaned to a high standard, i only found it dirty on one occasion but only because someone had had a talc explosion in one of the shower cubicles. We were only disapointed that we couldnt reserve our pitches, we were meeting up with our friends here, but they didnt arrive until the day after us,so we couldnt pitch together. The wardens were not very friendly or helpful on this matter. As much as the site is good, i do think that some of the rules sre a bit too strickt. I dont think we will be returning next year. After all we are camping and freedom is what its all about.

Playground Site

This was our second stay at Ferry Meadows, and on this occassion we experienced the same high standards of the facilities, tidiness of the site and the friendliness of the staff. As a mature couple with no young children travelling with us, we try to pitch up away from playground areas, to enjoy a quieter spot, leaving these free pitches free also for parents who wish to be near these facilities. However during our two stays we have been disturbed by children playing ball games near pitches and on this occasion runing around on the roadways of the site. Defeats the objective of having designated play areas surely and where are the responsible parents ensuring their children are safe? The ladies toilets were often strewn with toilet paper and unflushed toilets so either we have unsupervised children or badly behaved adults no respecting others. Not sure we will return unless it's during school term time. Shame a few spoil it for others.

Mutant rabbits

Just spent a very pleasant week here. As a site it's just like any other caravan club site, it's clean, ordered, sanitised, could be anywhere. The wardens are pleasant and welcoming as we expect of the CC. We first came here in 1978, for our first ever caravanning outing to what was then a new site and have been here many times since so we already knew of all the fabulous facilities and opportunities in the area.  Forgot about the rabbits though. They are numerous, brave and in some cases big! Terrified the poor dog!

Had a lovely break

We went in February 2015 just for a 4 night break and we were very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the site in general and also the toilet and shower facilities which were excellent. It was half term so there were loads of children, all playing safely. We went for some excellent bike rides around Ferry Meadows and enjoyed the whole time there. There was some work going on just outside the site felling trees which woke us up quite early some days, it would perhaps have been nice to be warned of this when we arrived so that we could have picked a plot further away if we had wished. We enjoyed watching the local squirrels and rabbits feeding and playing, how much closer to nature can you get! Overall we had a great time and would definitely return.

Another lovely stay

We have stayed at Ferry Meadows a number of times and have never been disappointed.  It is up to the usual tidy, clean and friendly site that we have come to expect from the Caravan Club.  The walks from the site are almost endless and flat.  A bonus for those of us whose bones are beginning to creak a little.  It's fabulous for dogs, although we have to keep ours on a lead around the lakes as she would be in after the ducks etc! During the school holidays, there are plenty of activites in the park for children and you have the added bonus of the Nene Valley railway-don't tell anyone, but you can get 10% discount on a train ticket with your Caravan Club card.  Definitely one of the jewels in the Clubs crown in our opinion

Very Good Site

Have stayed at Ferry Meadows a few times and have always found it to be a credit to the caravan club. It is quite a large site with pitches s[read over both sides of the road. Its very nice having the country park next door and the Nene Valley Railway just down the road. The walk from site into Peterbourgh isn't too bad either if weather is nice

The Perfect Peaceful Break Everyone Looks For

I have just come back after spending a four day weekend at Ferry Meadows and I have to say it was the best break away I have had in a long time.  The site is quite, away from the road noise, clean, tidy, peaceful and just perfect for families. There are many activities around to keep you amused throughout the day. There are a couple of local pubs and restaurants a stones throw away, in fact a five minute walk down the road from the site. The lakes are beautiful and perfect for walking and nature watching. It was fantastic to see the steam train run past the site on sunday of the Nene Valley Railway. I recommend everyone should take a visit to Ferry Meadows.

perfect for a quiet break

Yet again a lovely break at Ferry Meadows. No one is in a hurry, everyone has time to pass the time of day. Our dog loves the park and field and where there are no birds on the lakes we let her swim. The staff are always helpful and friendly, the place is always lovely and clean. They work hard to keep the place so even though it must be hard at times. So keep up the good work staff and we will see you again very soon. From The Henveys and Maisie the spaniel.
