We booked this site in advance for a 4 night break. We arrived not long after 12 o'clock and managed to find quite a nice pitch considering it was quite full and choice was limited. Some of the pitches are small so if you have a large outfit you may end up encroached on the grass. Over the weekend the site filled up and only a few pitches remained near to the entrance. Although it was full it was peaceful and the facilities were never left dirty or full. The wardens did a great job keeping it in tip top shape. Facilities were good and clean. Dog walking field was great, although a little muddy due to the recent rain. The location is one of the best features of this site as it is only a short walk into Moreton where there are shops, bars and restaurants. It is in easy reach of all the Cotswold's attractions and walks.
I marked it 4 for families which may be unfair as we don't have children but there didn't seem an awful lot to do for kids, I could be wrong so don't take my marking as gospel.
The only negative points are the loud booms in the distance that start about 0630 in the morning and carry on throughout the day, didn't bother me but it may bother some. The TV reception is very very poor. You will need a satellite or a long coaxial aerial lead. I would recommend you buy one before you go, apparently they were selling them for £15, I picked one up when I got home for a few quid. You will also need pipe to fill your water barrels, this will save you having to buy one from the wardens too.
We will definitely be back as it is a lovely site.
Very friendly helpful wardens. Some hard standing pitches are larger than other even though they are meant to take awnings which means going over onto the grass. TV reception was almost impossible except BBC1 enevthough we plugged into the site aerial! This was disappointing. Otherwise a very clean site in a good location, within easy walking distance of Moreton in Marsh town.
Superb wardens- great location - lovely to walk into Moreton- clean showers- good play area for children- some road noise if you pitch nearer the main road- level pitches- thank you to the very friendly wardens!
Great location in lovely area. Pitches very narrow so awnings go over hard standings onto grass. Restricted parking in front of pitch means difficulty in getting on without going over grassed area-causes damage to site in wet times then mud everywhere which cannot be helped. Wardens must have a difficult time trying to repair grassed areas due to tyre ruts - mud then goes on roads. Users carry this into caravans and shower block. Site could do with stoning approx 2 metre strip full length of roadways to reduce damage and extra work for wardens. This would also make site cleaner. Noise was an issue on this week long visit- constant loud banging noise from gas crow scarers in farmers fields nearby which kicked off from approx 06:20 am each morning and for rest of day.
Second time on this site. Facilities spotless, location lovely and within walking distance to shops, pubs and tearooms. Wardens very friendly. One of the wardens helped us put up our new awning, hence avoiding the inevitable arguments (between me and the wife of course :) ), so many thanks for that. Will definitely be back as lots to do in the area, which we didn't have time for on a long weekend.
We love this site as it is so easy to walk into town for anything that you need. The shops and people in Moreton in Marsh are really friendly and the restaurants are second to none. If you can defiantly go to the Greedy Goose, just outside the town, as the food is incredible.
We will be back as the Cotswold's is a good place to stop on our way down south.
The only down side to this site is the price per night, it is one of the more expensive caravan club sites and there are no serviced pitches for caravans.
Moreton in Marsh Site has everything I expect from a Caravan club Site. The proximity to the market town is a bonus. We loved the 2hr circular walk behind the site (Corders Lane) up towards Batsford, alongside the deer park and ending up back opposite Budgens. One small criticism is with the dog walk. At the time of visiting - Easter, the dog walk grass was mown short and flat throughout. Not a tuft of long grass, nor any features of doggy-interest to be found. Please leave some long grass for sniffing and finding tennis balls! It's just a bit dull otherwise.
love this site.new wardens but all very friendly, facilitys were kept very clean only one comment there should be more than 4 toilets as there were queues in the mornings. This is one of our favourite sites we will return again and again.
Our first visit here and to the Cotswolds. Met by friendly wardens. Site very clean and plenty of room. Pizzas cooked on site Friday we didn't have one but definately would next time. Moreton very quaint. Dogs allowed in pub near site in the bar. Bourton on the water well worth a visit lots to see and do. Definately be back
