sumer at St Agnes

Have been hear several times over the last 10 years it is a brilliant site well-kept as you would expect from a club site the views are to die for site itself would benefit if it had wi fi if you really need it? After all you are on holidays to get away from all the stresses and to chill out. Would recommend this site to anyone going to Cornwall good base for getting around to other parts of Cornwall will be back next year love it Only drawback not a lot for young children an site but plenty near by

One of our favourite sites.

We have been touring for 10 years and have stayed at over 50 Caravan Club Sites. This site is one of the best! We visited St Agnes at the end of June for 3 Days and returned the following week for another 3 days. The wardens were happy, friendly, informative and a pleasure to meet. The site has stunning views and gives access to some of the best walks we have ever encountered.

Well worth the drive

Stayed here for four nights and what a gem, although it was a long drive it was so worth it. We picked our pitch and although this site is considered quiet in the same respect it is busy because of its popularity.  The walking around here is immense we walked the 17 miles to Newquay and a bus back to St Agnes was easy. Then went 12 miles the other way to Hayle and again the bus journey back was simple. The short stroll (20 min walk) into st Agnes for a bit of 'civilisation' was just perfect.  The main hotel in St Agnes was really friendly and reasonably priced for a pint or a meal but equally you felt at ease to go in in your walking gear straight off a walk for a wind down. There is a lovely Tapas bar at the bottom of the hill if you fancy a change.  Although there are no toilet/shower blocks on this site there is a laundry and information room which was ample. Although we didn't get to sample the chip van the fish and chip shop in the village is definitely worth a visit with a couple of convenient benches outside to sit and absorb the atmosphere whilst eating your grub. This definitely features in our top ten sites.

Breezy St Agnes!

Stayed at St Agnes Beacon in July. Warm friendly welcome from Wardens Deryck and Sue and given a map and allowed to wander to select our pitch. The site was quite full, (Poldark effect?) but we found a nice pitch with a bit of a view of the sea. (Only blocked by the van in front!).  While the rest of the country were apparently enjoying a heat wave we had strong winds and occasional heavy rain - the latter mainly at night. The site is immaculately kept and is run in a relaxed but efficient manner by Deryck and Sue. There is no toilet block but there is a laundry and essentials are sold in the office. A fish & chip van calls two evenings a week - we sampled them on one occasion and they were excellent! A butchers van also calls once a week. There are lovely coastal walks from the site, either to the sea or over or around the beacon to St Agnes. Trevanaunce Bay was a lovely circular coastal walk. Apart from being blown inside out most days we thoroughly enjoyed our visit - stunning scenery and a walkers heaven!

A van with a view

We have been caravanning in Cornwall for the last twelve years but not stayed here before. What a mistake. Easy to reach off main routes, central to most regions and places of interest but above all else, this site is quiet, peaceful and can (subject to pitch choice) provide the most delightful view from the front windows of your van. Not having a toilet block might disappoint some but in my opinion keeps the site that bit quieter than most we've stayed on and, without a play area, might deter some families. A short walk is to be had from the site to the very cliff edge, coastal footpaths and sandy coves on one side, and the dramatic backcloth of the Beacon behind. We arrived the day the Fish & Chip van attended and the food was excellent. A butcher also visits once a week. There is a good laundry room but not washing up area that I could find. Unfortunately our stay was cut short partly due to both of us feeling "under the weather" and by the weather itself which managed to surround us with mist, heavy rain and gusts up to 55mph on each of the three days we were there. However we will definitely use this site on our next visit to Cornwall and we hope this will be later this year.

An ideal site.

This is a very well run site by cheerful and knowledgeable wardens. The beautiful surroundings and series of well documented circular walks make it ideal for those who wish to get out and explore on foot. The lack of toilet blocks is seen as a positive advantage for those who appreciate the tranquility this engenders. The provision of WiFi facilities would be welcomed. We expect to return to this our ideal site.
