Good for families

Don't book here unless it's just a stop over.

We stopped here on our way home from Switzerland so only stayed here from 16:30pm to 8am the following day (which was enough). The site could be nice with a lot of maintenance and cleaning. I'm not really sure how this is a recommended site on here. The staff are nice but the owners have not looked after what could be a nice place. Our pitch was hardstanding but completly over grown with weeds and had a cracked concrete drain cover with a deep hole which would have easily caused injury or damage to a van. Don't book here unless it's just a stop over.

Comment from the Club

One of our Campsite Contractors recently visited this campsite in July 2022 after reading these reviews and has submitted the following report.

This campsite was formerly a municipal site and has been taken over by the Aquadis group. The reception staff are friendly and speak good English. The camping area is attractive with good sized pitches, mostly with welcome shade and the pitches had been recently mown and were well presented when I visited. There are 2 washblocks on site. The first of these is adjacent to reception and close to most touring pitches. This block is of a good standard, clean and well maintained. The second block, at the far end of the site, however is much older, and although clean, it is inferior to the main block. We understand that there are plans to replace this block in the near future.

There is an attractive lake on site and a number of amenities that are free of charge to all guests, notably tennis and mini golf, plus there is a small snack bar. The town of Chalons-en-Champagne is well worth a visit and a convenient bus service runs very close to the site entrance. Despite its urban setting, the site retains a pleasant rural character.

Overall, I would recommend this site for a shorter stay, or an overnight stop given its good access to the major routes.
