Probably our favourite site of all (and during this trip we visited every Caravan & Motorhome Club site in the Republic of Ireland)! We received a warm welcome on arrival, and we couldn’t believe our luck when our allocated pitch was directly on the water’s edge. It was absolutely beautiful! The staff were extremely helpful and told us about a fantastic walk up a mountain, which was accessible without needing to drive from the site. It took us most of the day, and we were rewarded with absolutely stunning views across the bay and the surrounding countryside. The site was very well organised, with the management regularly driving round and checking that all was in order. The pitches and hedges were immaculate, and despite being busy (it was bank holiday weekend in Ireland) there was quite a calm feel to the site. Although children were not permitted to play on bikes around the site, you could hear them having a wonderful time in the water. Dogs are not permitted on this site, nor on the surrounding walks. The showers were free, but there were only three (for ladies, and I think it was the same for the men) so you sometimes had to wait, but never for long. The WiFi was good and also free of charge. There are nice pubs and restaurants near the site, and a good supermarket/filling station at the entrance. This is a site that we will definitely come back to if we return to Ireland, and next time we will probably stay for more than three nights.
