A lovely, quiet site with stunning scenery and great walks. Showers and WiFi are free. Even if the Reception building appears to be closed, the staff appear within seconds and are extremely helpful. The Aherlow House Hotel is about a twenty minute walk up the hill behind the site - with gorgeous views and a great menu. Everyone is really friendly - there was a wedding on when we were there, but there was still plenty of space, great service and food, and we were even given wedding cake after our meal. There is also a small pub (‘The Coach Road Inn’) just a short stroll from the site entrance. It might look closed from the outside, but just push open the small red door to the left of the building (as you’re looking at it) and it’s really friendly. We sat beside a nice little open fire - even in July.
