A beautiful🤩, peaceful site set in the lower Ardennes - well placed for exploring the area or simply sitting and chilling out. The site is owned and managed by Petrie and Tony who give an excellent smiling reception and assistance from the moment you arrive. They simply cannot do enough for you! The site is very quiet and tranquil. It is very well tended with green hedges creating privacy between spacious pitches. The overall environment is very tidy. The 2 chemical points were probably the best I have encountered! We didn’t use sanitary block or showers as we had those facilities on own pitch! But they looked well kept and clean. I would suggest the private, on pitch facilities, may be a bit chilly in cooler weather! There are 2 playgrounds for children along with a boules pit. The outside lake water swimming 👙🩳 pool looks inviting but may be cold in early season! The onsite pizzeria 🍕and friterie 🍟are both very good - offering more than just pizza or chips! There is a good ice cream 🍦stock - used almost daily during our stay! The little onsite shop caters for necessities and also offers (very good) bakery items to order daily. La Samaritaine is also part of a well designed and informative App (for the business that controls a number of sites overall) with lots of info and where bakery, pizza, friterie items can be ordered too. You can sit back and listen to the birds at dusk with a babbling stream in background creating further atmosphere. There is a proliferation of wildlife in the area, teeming with cuckoos, dragon flies, birds, insects…… The Beaver trail walk (the shorter of 3 from sites) takes in all of the wild life on offer.
