Les Ecureuils June 2022

Les Ecureuils June 2022 We (2 persons and 1 dog Lola) stayed for 7 nights at the beginning of June 2022. The campsite is quite large with a mixture of statics, safari tents and campervans and caravans. The pitches are small and most are sloping. There is some shade from trees. The swimming pool complex is first class. One of the pools is covered and there were many all new sun beds The site was busy at the weekend but quiet during the week as the kids were in school. The walk into town is about 10 minutes. The same to the beach. You are allowed to walk your dog but not to stop with the dog I checked this at the tourist info in the town The beaches to the south stretch for miles with few restrictions as to dogs. The beaches were deserted, probably due to the date of our visit and also a strong north westerly wind that continued for most of our visit. All the beaches are open to the west with no shelter. They are covered in oyster shells In the town there is a walled area that has a beach and captured sea water that seems popular with trainee sailors etc. No waves or oyster shells here The train station is a 5 minute walk from the site which means that travel to Pornic and Nantes and stations in-between is possible. Unfortunately, if you have a dog it needs to be in a basket or muzzled. Cycling is well catered for and there are cycle paths along the coast There is a nice dog walk from the site. Turn right then right again after 100 metres. This path is a shared cycle path and takes in a shaded walk and open areas to the hotel behind the campsite
