Good for families

Nice but not for us

We stayed for a week at the beginning of June 2023. Check-in was fine and staff friendly- we were told to tell them if we didn’t like our pitch. Pitches are ok, mainly slightly sloping. Facilities nice and clean, swimming pool complex good. It’s a 10 minute walk to town which has a good range of bars and restaurants as well as a small supermarket. The beach is also nice (the tide goes out a long way) but no dogs allowed June to September on the main beaches. Some nice walks along the coast. Pornic is well worth a visit. The site was busy at the weekend but fairly quiet during the week. I suspect it’s very busy in school holidays. We couldn’t work out at first why we didn’t really like this site. We eventually realised that it feels like a holiday resort rather than a campsite - there are about 200 lodges/statics compared to about 100 touring pitches. It’s a great site if you like lots of activities, especially for children. Just not for us.
