Karl-Heinz Schuler founded Carthago on 1 July 1979 and at that time the Company offered one off tailor-made conversions, to customer’s own specifications. The Malibu Volkswagen T4 Van was launched in 1985.  In 2013 Malibu became its own brand in the Carthago Group and today offers a full range of campervan, coachbuilt and A Class vehicles.
