Bishop Auckland Certificated Locations

Bishop Auckland is an attractive market town in County Durham, located in the Wear Valley between Darlington and Durham. Like other locations in the county, it is strongly associated with the ecclesiastical history of the Prince Bishops, with the Castle of Auckland acting as home to the Bishop of Durham since the 12th century.

Durham itself, with its castle and cathedral, is within easy reach, while Binchester Fort offers one of many Roman ruins in the region.

The area also offers some fine countryside for walkers, with the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just a few miles away to the west. The Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks are also within easy reach.
