Great views

Crich Lane Farm Home
Access is down the lane past the farm buildings, and there’s a locked gate through the farmyard to another secure gate for the site. Payment at the reception desk in the main building . There are three hardstanding and two grass pitches (On a slope). There is a picnic bench allocated for each pitch and some have their own water. There are good recycling bins available. There is a second CL adjacent to it. It’s an easy, five minute walk to the village. The horse and jockey pub serves food most of the day and its quality. There are some easy walks from this site along fields and back to the village. Very friendly farmer. Overall a lovely stay. Thank you

Crich Lane Farm Home
Crich Lane Farm is on the edge of Wessington Green. Its about 15 minutes from junction 28 of the M1 and on the edge of the Peak District. The pitches are spacious with great views over the fields to South Wingfield Manor. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk in to the village where you will find The Horse and Jockey and a really good chippy. There is also a vineyard!. Take your ordnance survey map and walk through the fields into Crich which has a great butchers and bakery plus the Black Swan a super little pub. For a good walk head cross country to Ashover. We also walk in to Matlock visit a few bars and catch a bus back. In South Wingfield (1.5 miles) is the Blue Bell more restaurant than pub also check out the White Hart at Morewood Moor with its lovely garden, great on a sunny day and a nice walk away down a quiet lane. This a great site with lots to do in the area, the owners are really helpful they run an award winning bed and breakfast in the farm house so your non caravaning friends could join you. A great site give it try

Lovely quiet CL

Crich Lane Farm Home
Just returned from three nights on this CL and a wonderful site it is. Arrived after a few days of heavy rain and was a little nervous about pitching on the grass part of the site but for no good reason - the grass is cut short and clearly drains well so had no issues. In fact, because we were facing out with our backs to those on hardstanding we had lovely uninterrupted country views. Access is excellent - just a few miles from the M1 with a short stretch of country lane to reach the farm. We had a warm welcome and the owners were helpful and clearly run an excellent, well organised site. It's no great distance into Matlock or Ashbourne with the rest of the Derbyshire Dales easily reachable - we had a lovely walk along Dovedale which was only 50 minutes or so drive... Despite being a working farm, it's extremely peaceful with only the sheep making any noise, and then, not much! Highly recommended and on our list of sites to be returned to...

Returned to my favourite place.

Crich Lane Farm Home
Just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely site, great views, the grass is alway short with no grass cuttings anywhere. Each pitch has its own water and picnic bench and plenty of room, past comments mention noise, we only heard cows which you would expect on a farm, I found it nice a quiet, very easy to get to your pitch. The owners are lovely, very approachable and always please to see you. Thank you again Richard for a lovely stay.

First weekend away after Covid-19 lockdown

Crich Lane Farm Home
What a lovely site, easily accessible and with excellent hardstanding. It's only been marked down by one star on the 'peace and tranquility' rating because this is the countryside and a working farm: during the day expect the cows to moo (loudly), the sheep to 'baa' from baritone to soprano, the cockerals to crow, guns to shoot in the distance, to hear farm vehicles, and hear dogs sometimes bark. However, all these things were pleasantly quiet at night time, so sleep was not disturbed. There are no shower and toilet facilities so you need to be self-sufficient, but it was easy to dispose of grey waste and to empty the cassette into the septic tank. There were several rubbish bins to separate out recycling waste. We did not use the fishing lake (rods available to hire), but enjoyed watching those who did. The pub is a pleasant short walk away, so that was an added bonus to enjoy our first pub-pint since the beginning of March, sitting outdoors in the sunshine. We made use of the electric hook-up and our own dedicated drinking-water tap.
