The town of Saffron Walden lies in Essex and is an excellent place to head to if you like a spot of culture on your British breaks.
It has some beautiful old buildings to admire as you wander around, including Audley End House from the Jacobean times.
Market days are Tuesday and Saturday and there are also plenty of small shops and eateries to cater for you during your stay in Saffron Walden.
Other highlights include the Victorian Bridge End Garden with its yew maze, Saffron Walden Museum, the Fry Art gallery, Audley End Miniature Railway and Enchanted Fairy and Elf Walk and the turf labyrinth, one of the last surviving examples in Europe.
