Hornby Certificated Locations

Hornby, or Hornby-with-Farleton to give it its full name, is a village situated within the Lancashire city of Lancaster.

Its proximity to where the River Wenning joins the River Lune makes it the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing weekend break or even longer, with walking and cycling opportunities aplenty in the pretty countryside.

Within the village itself, it's worth taking a look at the unusual octagonal tower on St Margaret's Church, as well as the earthwork remains of Castle Stead.

Hornby Castle is also situated in the village, although it has now been converted into private homes and so is not open to the public. However, the gardens do welcome occasionally in order to show off the floral displays that grow there.

There are several places to eat within the village, or you could make the short drive into Lancaster for an array of pubs and restaurants.
