Greetham Retreat CL was first created and opened by Rob and Jeanette Folwell (the owners) in 2010. It's a tranquil and popular site, set in over 4 acres of private parkland-type grounds that include areas of woodland, wildlife ponds, wildflower meadows all attracting a variety of wildlife all year round. There are also several mown and woodchip pathways to explore throughout, which lead to seating areas taking advantage of the panoramic views across the surrounding open countryside of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds (which is designated as a National Landscape, formerly known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)).
CL site
Everyone is welcome, especially pets. We have five spacious level hardstanding pitches and an alternative grass pitch terraced across a slight incline. They have 16-amp electric hook-ups with space for an awning and tow vehicle with a good-quality access roadway. We also provide a dedicated modern heated shower and WC facility for CL site users. The site is open most of the year, from 1st March until just after Xmas and New Year Eve.
Things to do
We’re ideally located for exploring being about 3 miles from the historic market town of Horncastle, famous for its many antique and collectables shops. We’re located about halfway between the historic Cathedral City of Lincoln and the wide sandy beaches along the East Coast, and resorts like Skegness, Sutton-on-Sea, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes all easy reach. We’re close to several aviation heritage museums, including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and various nature reserves; Snipe Dales and Gibraltar Point for those who enjoy wildlife and bird watching. Caldwell Park for motorsports and Market Rasen racecourse are also nearby.
The Lincolnshire Wolds are ideal for those who enjoy walking or cycling. There is plenty to do to keep everyone occupied, and other attractive market towns nearby, like Boston, Louth, Spilsby and Woodhall Spa ideal for those who wish to explore. Alternatively, you can just enjoy our beautiful site and take a stroll around the grounds where you can relax and unwind from the stresses of daily life, or take a picnic on the tables alongside our lovely wildlife pond.
