Why stay here ...

Welcome to Tobella Farm.  The CL is a former paddock situated on a small working farm with four grass pitches and one hardstanding.  Access to the site is straight forward  through a wide double gated entrance.  We are easy to reach just 5 minutes from the M5 motorway.

The seafront which in only a 20 minute walk away includes the only Grade I listed pier in the UK, ornamental gardens, a Victorian bandstand and other visitor attractions.  The Salthouse Field has a light railway running round the perimeter and is used for donkey rides during the summer.  The shore is a mixture of pebbled beaches and low rocky cliffs.  Good public houses include The Salthouse which overlooks the Bristol Channel and Marine Lake where they do sailing and paddle boarding, for maximising the evening sun try The Little Harp.

You may choose to return to the CL via ‘Poets Walk’ on Wains Hill (which is topped by the remains of an Iron Age hill fort) if you time it right a spectacular sunset, which Clevedon is well known for, can be seen from Poets Walk on the way home.

Other landmarks include Walton Castle, Clevedon Court, Clevedon Clock Tower, Clevedon Craft Centre, Curzon Cinema and Hill Road which is just 200 yards from the famous Victorian pier and has a lovely array of shops and cafes.

On arrival to the CL we will give you a welcome booklet which gives you more helpful information on the area and also some local walks and details for local shops and supermarkets.

Didn't see anyone....

Tobella Farm
Had quite a strange experience on the 1 night I stayed here. I had been given the code to the location by the owner via an email exchange, so let myself in, got sorted with water and electricity and settled in. I assumed that someone would be along to say hello at some stage, but nobody ever came and it wasn't obvious where the owner's house was either. So left the following morning without seeing anyone which has never happened anywhere else I have stayed. The location is basic, with just water, Elsan and EHUs. As others have said, there are a lot of tractors and farm traffic but also there are some business units opposite and there was quite a bit of traffic coming and going in connection with those.

Suited us very nicely.

Tobella Farm
This is obviously a busy working farm, and the CL site is located by the entrance so you do have tractors and other vehicles regularly go in and out. You are also parked up next to a road but, I didn't find this disturbing. We had a lovely welcome from the owner of the site and as you go through a coded gate to get in and out, we weren't disturbed by other people The site is situated a good walk away from Clevedon itself. We happily walked in and out on the days we stopped, but it was a good 5 mile round trip. If you're not fancying that, you'd need transport of some kind. The walk was lovely for our dog and the scenery is really excellent. I should also pint out that there are several locations in the areas where the BroadChurch TV service was filmed, something I hadn't know until we arrived. The main reason I didn't give the full 5* is that there wasn't anywhere to leave rubbish.

Excellent location for enjoying the lovely town of Clevedon

Tobella Farm
We read the only review for this site and decided that we would take little notice of someone who complains about ‘tractor noise’ on a working farm. I am so glad that we did. This site is perfectly placed for a beautiful river walk into Clevedon. If I was a fisherman and/ or golfer, I would be in heaven as both these 2 minutes walk. On arrival, we were helped to set up our electric and when there was a powercut , we were kept informed of expected time for reconnection and a special visit made to let us know that the supply had been restored. Only one thing I would say is that you need your own toilet and shower facilities on this CL. But if happy with that , this is a little gem of a site. We will return soon.

Not very good

Tobella Farm
We stayed for 2 nights the road is very noisy the farm up the road the tractor are coming past all the time the grass is to long and the price at £15 is way over the top when it is £11 in the book and on line.
