Why stay here ...

Dyke Bottom Farm CL is a small and friendly site just on the edge of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The site is well maintained and overlooks open countryside, yet is less than two miles away from the centre of Harrogate, with its many eating establishments, shops and other tourist attractions.

The site offers Electric Hook-up units, water, WC disposal point, refuse and recycling. We are a working family farm, sheep and cattle, and our eleven year old son, George has a small flock of hens (some rare breed) laying free range eggs which he sells to earn his pocket money, and is proving to be very popular with our visitors.

We are located within easy travelling distance of the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, with York and Leeds being less than a 30 minute journey away from the site. Other local attractions include Bettys Tearooms, RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, The Yorkshire Show Ground, Harrogate International Centre, The Turkish Baths, Ripley Castle, Harewood House, plus numerous National Trust properties / locations.

We pride ourselves on maintaining a tidy, well mown CL site, and have some limited hardstanding available in case of inclement weather or for easy levelling for Motorhomes. Children and dogs are most welcome.

There is a bus stop within a 5-7 minute walk from our site, and we are located within a mile of cycle tracks to travel across Harrogate and surrounding areas, which are proving extremely popular after the Tour de France, which passed our site last July, creating an amazing atmosphere and showing Yorkshire off at it’s beautiful best! Walking into Harrogate from our site is possible, being less than a mile and a half from the town centre.

We have two local pubs within easy walking distance of our site, if you don’t fancy either cooking or driving. Harrogate and surrounding areas have many good eating establishments with most cuisines, price ranges covered.

Please contact us preferably via email to enquire about making a booking phone (please leave a message on our answerphone and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible) or call our mobile.

Thanks for looking at our site, and we hope to welcome you to our CL in the near future.

Stayed here to visit Harrogate

We stayed here for one night. It had been raining for many days and the grassed CL area was inaccessible. However it looked really pleasant with good views and the farmer, who gave us a very warm welcome, allowed us to pick a hard standing area on the farm and he quickly set up a hook up. He was also happy for our children to visit the lambs. We picked this site as it is close to Harrogate but it was not as easy to get into the town as we expected as there is no longer a nearby bus stop and the walk is partly along a main road (which can be heard from the site) without a path. We therefore used a taxi which cost approx £9 each way which was quick and easy.

Convenient stopover location

Stayed here twice in September on our journey to and from the Lake District. Easy to find off main road. Lond narrow farm lane to site with low wall leither side. Site on right through gate. Hardstanding at entrance. Unfortunately the grass tured out to be very boggy when we tried to park next to another outfit and although we followed tyre tracks got stuck after a couple of yards. Farmer kindly towed usback to the hardstanding. Pitch 6 not level but managed without chocks. Water and chemical waste disposal available on field. No toilets or showers. Expensive for what was on offer but a very convenient site.

Lovely little site near Harrogate

This is a lovely little CL. Beautify mowed grassed area kept lovely by the owners little son on his ride on lawn mower. On a slight slope but this wasn't an issue. Very close to Harrogate its self which was lovely and Ripley castle was just down the road where we went to an agriculture show. There is a pup called The Nelson which is a 5 minute walk away that does nice pub food.We had lovely weather so sat outside our van and took in the lovely scenery. Some traffic noise from the main road but that did not spoil our trip there. I would definitely stay here again.

Great for Harrogate

A very tidy nicely mown site. It is sloping, we used the far field which was more level. Very nice owners and great fresh eggs.  Pub was an easy walk, the road is busy but there's room to walk. Bus close by too. We did walk to Harrogate and took just over an hour. As others have said, not a major walking area but ideal for Harrogate which is why we came.
