Why stay here ...

CL of the Year Winners 2020 - Best Newcomer Award

Goodleigh Hill CL is an ideal location as a base to explore South Worcestershire and the North Cotswolds.

The site provides a safe and short walking distance to the town of Pershore, a delightful Georgian town on the banks of the River Avon.

The town attracts many visitors throughout the year to its events, particularly the Plum Festival, Mid-Summer Brass and Jazz Festival.

There are plenty of lovely local eateries and pubs nearby. The nearest being an 8 minute walk from the site. Also within short distance are the beautiful villages that nestle the 19 mile loop of Bredon Hill including the Cotswold Stone Kemerton, Conderton and Overbury.

Ths site is convenient for the Malvern Hills and the Malvern Spring and Autumn RHS shows, Broadway (Northern Cotswolds), plus the towns of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Little Gem of a site

Goodleigh Hill
We have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at this little gem of a site. Everything was perfect, from Emily's route instructions, the welcome folder waiting on our pitch, which contained so much information you would need a much longer stay to get through it all. Emily came to greet us soon after our arrival with even more ideas of things to do, she obviously loves sharing the place she loves with her visitors. She could not have been more helpful. The site was immaculate, the pitch enormous & it was great to be allowed to pitch whichever way suited you. The wild flower meadow and the new wild life pond were lovely. The honesty cupboard containing local produce was a very nice touch. Pershore is a short walk away and has several independent shops & a wide choice of pubs and restaurants, we only tried a few and were not disappointed with any of them. We only managed to do the 5 mile circular walk & a visit to Croome Park NT so have a very good excuse to visit again. The only reason I gave a mark of 4 & not 5 for 'peace & tranquility" was because there is some road noise (not much) and that may concern some people, we didn't find it intrusive at all. Can't wait to go back. Thankyou again Emily for making our weekend away perfect.

Just perfect.

Goodleigh Hill
We are currently moving away from the club sites when possible and discovering the joys of the CL sites. Goodleigh Hill didn’t disappoint in that respect and we enjoyed our recent stay so much that we are going back in the summer to further explore this beautiful area. Highly recommended site and location.

Lovely Site - But…

Goodleigh Hill
We stayed on this CL for three nights. We received a warm welcome from Emily. This is a lovely, well organised site. Each pitch is large and has its own EHU, water tap and grey waste water disposal facilities. The recycling facilities and chemical emptying point are well organised. There is quite a busy road alongside the CL, especially early mornings which may bother some people. The site is surrounded by trees, so nothing much in the way of views. The electricity is metered at 10 units per day, which we assume are included in the site fees. Obviously, if you use more, you will be charged for the additional units. However, if you use less than the 10 units, you don’t get a refund. If you’re keen walkers there are lots of good walks, and Emily has taken the trouble to put together a useful folder for each pitch with lots of information about the local area. Pershore which is a small pretty town with Georgian buildings and an old Toll House is a 10 minute walk away. Evesham, which is larger than Pershore has some historic buildings and medieval Churches and a Bell Tower. Motorhomers will be pleased to find an excellent parking area at Viaduct Meadow which is a 10 minute walk into the centre of Evesham or you can stroll into town via a riverside walk. Also nearby, is an RHS College with a garden centre which we visited. There are National Trust properties, Croome Court and Hidcote nearby and also Batsford Arboretum. However, a word of caution. Whilst Goodleigh Hill is a lovely CL, for us, it’s the most expensive site we’ve stayed on in nearly 40 years of caravanning and motorhoming, given that there aren’t any toilets or showers. That doesn’t bother us, as we prefer to use our own facilities. The list of terms and conditions on the website is, we feel are quite onerous for a CL. We were somewhat surprised, that we had to pay half the fees as a deposit, and the full amount a week in advance of our arrival, which isn’t required on the large Club sites. At one point we thought we might have to cancel, and were informed, that if the space couldn’t be booked, we would lose our deposit. If we wanted to try and use the deposit to book another date, there was an additional £15 booking fee. For a small CL, the rules and regulations, do seem quite draconian. We’re more than happy to pay a deposit, but feel it should be a nominal amount, and have never been asked to pay the full amount a week before arrival, which we’ve never done on a large site, let alone a friendly CL.

Outstanding

Goodleigh Hill
The Horton family deserve all the accolades that come their way for establishing and maintaining this outstanding CL. Our March 22 visit was our second and we have immediately booked for 2003. The spacious and immaculately kept site and grounds are exceptional. The immediate surrounding area is beautiful and picturesque with local villages that are delight to visit. Within a few minutes more is Broadway and, for us, the newly discovered villages of Stanton, Stanway and Laverton. This CL in our view is something to strive for. Stuart & Margaret.

A Jewel of a CL

Goodleigh Hill
We recently spent 5 nights here and were very impressed with how well Matthew and Emily have set up and manage such a wonderful site. We have stayed at many CLs but have no hesitation in declaring that this is the best, The layout is spacious with fully serviced pitches and a the location is fabulous. It is just a short walk into Pershore which has a lovely feel to it and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. The area is great for walkers and cyclists - we did both and our Dog met lots of new friends on the many outings he got. He also enjoyed his short morning and evening walks around the paddock in front of our motorhome. We were very impressed with the warmth of welcome from Emily, the advice she offered to help us enjoy the local area and by how much time and effort she put in to running the site and keeping everything clean and tidy. We look forward to returning in the future.
