Stewarton Certificated Locations

Textiles have been at the heart of Stewarton since the 1400s, with the manufacture of bonnets being the town’s main industry.

These days, most of the bonnet-making has gone, but the historic buildings and peaceful setting by Annick Water remain.

As well as the bustling town, there is much opportunity to explore the countryside around Stewarton. Walkers should look out for pink purslane, a plant that grows in abundance and has been nicknamed the Stewarton flower.

Over the years, the rail line to Stewarton has been closed and re-opened, and today offers a convenient way to take day trips further afield.
