Lovely little site just above the NC500 and although you can see all the other motorhomes zooming along, you can't hear them. The views are lovely. Mrs Strang arrived on her off road vehicle and was happy to sell us some of her eggs - delicious. Facilities a little antiquated but worth it for the tranquillity.

Stayed here in good weather. Superb, and we agree with the previous review. Just be careful of access, we suffered a scuffed wheel arch to our long caravan which was driver's fault. There are two sets of gates, turns in the drive and a steep incline to negotiate before you reach the camping field. No trouble for motorhomes but caravanners be warned. The first house is private and the owners farm house is some meters along the drive. The owners leave your name on the allocated pitch and see you when they are free and able. All very relaxed and pleasant.

Fabulous location and site

Birchbank
Beautiful position, elevated above the road. Fabulous views from site across the valley to Suilven and cul mor. Pitches all neatly layed out and numbered, hardstanding and level and with 16amp electric. Clean and tidy toilet in farm outbuilding. I really don't understand previous bad comments on loo. There is also an art room with book loan/exchange. We had a long chat with the owner Tom, really lovely man, fascinating to hear stories of mountaineering.

Love this little CL. Been here a few times and keep coming back. Views are incredible to Col Mor and Suilven. In the heart of Assynt with good access to both Ullapool and Lochinver. Walks from the site. Fishing just down the road. Sunsets to die for. Lots to do. This visit, filling my water barrel I turned to see two White Tailed Eagles circling the valley at same height, just 75 yards away. Not bothered that the toilet isn’t much cop - we use our on-board facilities. Access looks tighter than it is - no problem for our 24’ van and Land Rover. And yes the toilet empty is rudimentary but this site’s positives easily outweigh the negatives. And if you want manicured facilities then dare I suggest you’re in the wrong area. Owners are friendly and welcoming. We’ll keep coming back.
