Kelso Certificated Locations

Kelso is one of the most historic and fascinating towns in the Scottish Borders region. Once part of the county of Roxburghshire, the town lies at the junction of the Teviot and Tweed rivers amid some superb scenery in the Lowland hills. Walkers can explore this area and also the nearby Northumberland National Park, just across the border in England.

The town has two important historic buildings, the ruined Kelso Abbey, which was built in the 12th century, and the magnificent turreted Floors Castle. Dating from the 18th century, it is the largest currently inhabited castle in Scotland. Also within easy reach is Roxburgh Castle.

Sports fans can enjoy seeing the horses in action at Kelso Racecourse.
