Definitely not a CL

Vishwell Farm
Arrived on site, man came out on arrival and said park anywhere you like. There is no set CL field, it is literally a free for all. Very over crowded, music in a camper van quite loud with lots of base 😡. Facilities not too bad, but there was no toilet roll or hand dryer in the toilet. Didn’t use any other facilities as we used our own. I would definitely read reviews before booking a CL next time. I thought we could trust caravan and motorhome, obviously not, very disappointing

Not your usual CL for 5 vans!

Vishwell Farm
Nice site, but you can’t really class it as part of the CL network! It's a small private site on a farm with 20 pitches. There are three slightly separated areas but there is no segregation for the Caravan Club CL user. It’s basically a free for all and you are told to pitch anywhere. What is also disappointing is that there are no pitch numbers, therefore people come in and literally pitch anywhere! When you go out for the day, you are not sure what you are going to come back to, as in, how close your new neighbour might be. We stayed here for several nights in June and over the weekend there were plenty of campers coming and going in VW type motor vans for one night due to a big concert in Cardiff. We cannot comment on the facilities as we used our own in the caravan. We did read the reviews before booking, but did think that the CL user would be in an area for 5 vans only. Have not stayed on a CL site like this one in 35yrs of touring. Also, after touring Wales for a month, this was our most expensive CL at £22 per night.

Set on a working farm with facilities to match

Vishwell Farm
Easy to find, just off main road between Barry and Cardiff, but little traffic noise from it. Nice views over countryside and relatively flat hardstanding pitch. No interaction with owner on arrival so vans were parked where they liked...one blocked the gravel access to the facilities 'block' which was selfish. They were not asked to relocate which was a shame. The toilets and showers were not brilliant and the cost of £22 per night (plus 50p per shower) in mid March was a bit steep. It cost us less to stay the following night on a club site which had heated shower block with all the facilities at a standard you would expect for the money. Would I stay at Vishwell Farm again...probably not.

Well kept site grass nice and short. Toilet have had a refresh and looking good for a CL site. Ideal for exploring South Wales, Easy to find, would highly recommend it. Would certainly use this site again

Great first experience of a CL

Vishwell Farm
Well kept site and good space between each pitch. It's a working farm so not always someone around at arrival/departure, but this was all explained when booking so no problems at all. Really peaceful site even though it's not far from the main road, and lovely outlook. This was our first time at a CL and really enjoyed staying here. Will definitely be back soon!
