We have been going to putts corner for the past 10 years, sometimes twice a year. This year we decided on a near 3 week stay. The good :- I can honestly say that Diane and co were very friendly and helpful and had zero issues with any site staff. Bear in mind lots of other reviews to the contrary. The facilities were always spotless after being cleaned, unfortunately what members do to them after is beyond belief. If they act like this at home, it must be utterly disgraceful. The Bad:- I have raised this on a number of occasions with the club (silence I hasten to add) the service pitches are extremely tight and small, considering the uplift in prices it really is not good enough. At one point during our stay half of the toilets and showers were closed off, this did result on one morning a queue formed. Quite unacceptable considering others could be available. But another surprise was the fact that only half of the cleaning was required due to shut off, the facilities were still closed for the full allotted time? Other members with dogs, sorry to upset the furry dog brigade but, you are responsible for your dog and their behaviour. Why is there a need to have a dog on a lead so long you have no control over it, why the need to let your dog wander over other pitches whilst on this ridiculous lead. Why the need to allow your dog to foul in any shape on any pitch. There is a dog walk for gods sake, how about using it. Incredibly I actually witnessed somebody open their caravan door, let the dog out on this wander lead, do his business then drag it back in, walk (ha ha ha) over. The ugly:- Can say more than the site is now extemley scruffy. Grass, hedges etc really do need attention. In the middle of the devon countryside do we really need to have such unkempt areas of a holiday site? My own opinion is NO, the no mow May sms to extend into September, I have neve experienced this site in such a state. The club need to take on board we are now paying exorbitant fees in excess of private sites for a lot less and to give us paying members less for more is simply scandalous.
Comment from the Club:
Many thanks for your review and we are delighted that found the team friendly and helpful. The Site team have actually been in touch as they wanted to address your concerns. They have been working really hard to get Putts Corner looking good and as you can see from the previous review, there's been lots of work carried out by the team to the grass and hedges on the campsite. With regards to any issues or concerns on Club Campsites, please do speak to our site team as they are always happy to hep if they can. They have not seen any dogs on long leads so please report this at the time of your stay so they can help by speaking to members. Many thanks and we hope this helps for future visits.
