Set in open countryside just outside York, York Beechwood Grange Club Site is beautifully screened from the world with trees and hedges. The caravan site is ideal for exploring the historic city or for discovering Yorkshire's many varied attractions further afield. It is also a great location for families in search of plenty of space for children to play and yet within close range of both modern conveniences and the pleasant surrounding natural landscapes.

York Beechwood Grange Club Site puts you within easy reach of local transport - Park 'n' Ride is available from Monks Cross, allowing you to visit a wide range of interesting locations. Monks Cross offers plenty of high street shops and a variety of places to eat and drink. Retail parks where you can shop 'til you drop are within easy reach too. The medieval streets of York offer an excellent opportunity to soak up the local history: just some of the attractions to visit are the Minster, National Railway Museum and the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre. Other places within a short distance from the site and well worth the visit are Rievaulx Abbey, Ryedale's market towns, the famous Moors and of course the beauty of historic Bronte country. Travelling a little further afield, you can reach the popular coastal resort of Scarborough. For fabulous food shopping and delicious local produce head to Malton, known as Yorkshire's food capital. The town also hosts the annual Food Lovers Festival with cookery demonstrations, family entertainment, lots of food stalls and plenty more. Nearby to Malton, Flamingo Land has plenty to keep the kids entertained, including a theme park and plenty of wildlife. For a more leisurely outing, you can opt for a romantic cruise along the river Ouse.

A great stop over

I cannot complain about my visit here as it was just a stop over & it was perfect for us, the warden helped us on our late arrival, the site was so quiet it was embarrassing trying to level up as quietly as possible, but once settled we had a lovely quiet nights stay & a perfectly relaxing morning to get ready for the next part of out journey, the facility's were fantastically clean & well laid out, If i was to warn people about anything it would be once you come off the roundabout & on to the road leading to the site is keep driving right up the road as far as you can go & you will find the site otherwise its well hidden.

Clean and mostly quiet

We arrived on Feb 21st for 3 nights. The site is clearly popular -perhaps because it was half term - and was very full. The toilet block was clean and more than adequate - never saw any one queuing. Plenty of children on the playground and cycling but they were never an issue. We used the camp wifi - we think this was expensive but it was better quality than we expected.

Disappointing 1st, and potentially last visit.

Arrived on the 13th Feb, chose what looked like a good pitch, hoping for a quiet visit. Site was not very busy when we arrived, then came the weekend, lots of disrespectful children not being supervised by their parents, "out of sight out of mind" springs to mind. Let's hope their parents enjoyed their break. We were awakened on the Saturday morning by the children from the late arrival (Friday) next to us on pitch 13, the young son proceeded to switch off the electricity to our unit. When challenged, we were met with ignorance and a blatant disregard by the Male and Female on the pitch. They arrived late on the Friday evening, then proceeded to manoeuvre their caravan onto the pitch by driving several times backwards and forwards over the soft grass opposite. No respect at all. Many children playing around the toilet blocks and the service points on cycles, skateboards and scooters, despite the signage being in place to prevent this, again lack of parental supervision/uncaring attitude. Road system difficult, narrow and pitch access very awkward in certain areas. Internet and phones had no, or very little signal. Observed new arrivals arguing about pitch allocation. Wardens visibility was almost non existent. Advice is - Enforce the rules you have in place, not all visitors have a good time, we have a weekend booked in May, but will be cancelling.

Excellent site.

I arrived to a very friendly welcome by the wardens and was quickly checked in and on my way to find a pitch. The site is quite large but well laid out with, I think, everyone on hardstandings, which is a bonus at this time of year. The facilities, in fact the whole site, are kept immaculate and are a credit to the hard working wardens. The site is handy for all the attractions of the city and well placed if you fancy a run over to the coast. All in all a very pleasant weeks stay, with special thanks to all the hard working and very friendly wardens.

Curiosity Satisfied - Would highly recommend this site

Visited this site a couple of years ago and decided to book an overnight stay to see what it was like since the refurbishment. Got to say we were all very impressed with the new layout and extended toilet block. A very warm welcome on arrival by the wardens. The only downside to our stay was the weather - very windy. Highly recommend this this site and its on the list for a return visit.
