Lovely site near the sea

Lovely well organised site by the sea, and easy access into the town. We stayed for three nights on our trip up the east coast. Lovely walks along the sea front and up to the war memorial. Facilities on site very clean and well maintained. Felt perfectly safe due to well organised facilities and measures put in place. Certainly would be happy to return.

Lovely site

We stay here regularly on our annual trip to Scotland. This year we stayed four nights north bound and again four nights south bound. It is a wonderful site, perfect by the sea for walks, pleasant town, lovely shops and all adhering to Covid rules. Felt very safe. Site is clean, tidy and well kept. The only annoying thing is WHY do others keep walking across occupied pitches to take a short cut to toilet block or water points! It is particularly bad at this site. Excellent fish and chips and ice cream two minutes walk from site.

Great location but watch out for the thieving Seagulls!

As motorhome members we find it difficult to find sites that are conveniently located to facilities, as we choose not to bother towing a small car behind us, so we rely on walking or our fold up bikes or public transport, so it is very refreshing to find a site such as this - adjoining the seafront, a short walk to the town and local attractions and the choice of either bus or train connections to Aberdeen etc. The site and facilities are very tidy and clean. The seagulls are a nuisance as other members have reported, but that is a national problem. Having completed a tour which included staying at eight club sites and two weekend stays previous to the tour so a total of ten sites in the last six weeks - it is interesting how each site interprets the COVID-19 guidelines. Southport site in particular are farcical, so I think the club should set out the rules and regulations for their wardens and not leave interpretation of the guidelines to the wardens themselves, so that we members know what to expect at each site.

A seaside gem

A great site in an excellent seaside location, well situated just behind the beach, quiet witb easy access to all facilities. Plenty to see and do despite Covid. The historic town of Stonehaven is well prepared for visitors and has given a lot of thought to visitor safety. Highly recommended!

What a surprise!

This was our first visit to Stonehaven. It appeared to me that the site was a stepping off point for Aberdeen. The site staff were new so could offer no advice. What a surprise to find a delightful town. There is no promenade instead a boardwalk takes you from the site along the beach, to the harbour. Enjoy fresh lobster, straight off the boat! The town has a good selection of shops, a town hall in the main square and some beautiful buildings just back from the sea front. Aberdeen is a bus ride away as the park and rides have a height restrictions for Motorhomes. A nice city but disappointingly quiet. The Covid restrictions have had quite an effect on what should be a vibrant city. Plenty of lovely coastal walks straight off the site. Pretty good cycling as long as you are ok with some steep hills! A well located site and a surprising nice area to explore. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
