Have just had a new ec480 control panel fitted as the screen went blank.

On arrival home I notice that the omni step will not extend fully but will retract fully.

If you operate a number of times you can with a little pull get the step to extend.

Can this be related to the panel change or is the step at fault of full of road dirt,

I dont want to drive the 160 mile trip to the dealer unless I really have to.

Hi Is the control panel a Sargent?

If it is you can enter the setup menu and change the run time for the step motor.

Look at the Sargent website help pages. I needed to reset the battery size and charging for which I used the set up menu.

The Sargent EC 480 control panel has a Maintenance screen, acessed by getting into (on my Autotrail) into the Logo screen, then pressing up and down button simultaniously it should beep and display the maintenance screen.

What you need is the step cycles, you can increase or decrease them, you need to increase them until the step deploys and retacts fully.

Full instructions are available on the internet as Dealer service instructions EC480.  Hope that helps,

Nice van by the way !

Thanks got the step to work by increasing the step cycles as advised.

I now notice that I can turn the awning light on from the ec480 but not on the switch inside the door. Any ideas?

Hi David I think you need to go back into the setup menu. I am pretty certain that one of the options in the menu is for the awning light.

As you have a new control panel you may as well check the rest of the setting are as you want them.

Check that the battery size is set correctly and that the start charge is correct. If these are not set correctly the reading on the control panel will be inaccurate.

it might be worth you downloading the user manual from the Sargent website. That's what I have done. I use iPad so I have saved it to iBooks and have it available for reference if things go wrong.

Hope this helps
