Following 16 years as Chairman of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Grenville Chamberlain OBE will be stepping down.

We would like to thank Grenville (pictured left) for his unwavering dedication to the Club and its members throughout his time as Chairman.

We're delighted to announce that following the Caravan and Motorhome Club AGM, David Turner has been appointed as Chairman by Club members.

David (pictured right) has been a dedicated Club member since 1988, contributing significantly by serving on various Committees and previously holding the position of Club Vice-Chairman.

In addition after 12 years of dedicated service as the Club's Honorary Treasurer, Christopher Macgowan OBE has stepped down. His successor is Alison Woodhams.

The Club offers its most heartfelt thanks to Christopher for his guidance over the years and warmly welcomes Alison.

Wishing Grenville a happy ‘retirement’ from his role. Met him on a couple of occasions when he  came across as a true gentleman and a proper members, member! He appeared humble and would see the fun and assuming side of caravanning. Loved his moment in that lighthearted ‘Caravaner of the Year’ TV show, even when things didn’t go his way he remained a genuine character who clearly loved our shared pastime.

There have been some bad decisions in recent years and it's time for changes at the top. I wish them all well for the future.

I remember the old saying ‘ if it ain’t broken don’t mend it ‘

Also seeing as it is the ‘ members ‘ club let’s have a bit more interaction / consultation with the membership and I think it will go from strength to strength

I don't share your enthusiasm for the 'Caravanner of the Year' TV programme Micky.

What should have been a shop window for our wonderful hobby came over as a sort of 'Carry on Caravanning', and the viewer was left with the impression that the Club is an organisation run by clowns, for clowns.

As for the moment when the Chairman ripped the back off his caravan....it made me want to shrivel up into a ball!

I wish him well, but I think the change is long overdue

To those showing such disrespect to our past Chairman who has given 16 years serving us the membership and are calling for change at the top. What positive steps are you going to take to bring that about apart from blowing hot air on CT.

Respect is a two way thing, it is supposed to be a club and I for 1 don’t think there is much coming to the membership.

So what do you want to see coming from the club to you that you feel isn't there at the moment. The more people start to articulate ways they think the club can improve the more the club has the opportunity to deliver them.

The only bit I don't agree with is it's run FOR clowns.
