Disillusioned

Planned a short break for this weekend til wed. 2 sites involved, the first one just phoned to say bring some old carpet as will be on grass, second site just called to cancel booking. We have a very large motorhome which is not really suitable for grass and I am underwhelmed with the idea of travelling around with carpet offcuts. When we questioned why, when we had booked well in advance, we were informed that CC rules say that no matter how early you book you will never be guaranteed a hardstanding.  We were all set to go, and now OH is ringing around trying to find alternatives outside of CC. Whether we find somewhere or not, I feel the CC is not what we originally thought it was. The cavalier attitude of the guy who called showed that he cared not a jot that after booking time off work and booking well in advance we could now be going nowhere. He also confirmed that he would choose who got a hardstanding and who woudn't, again quoting CC rules which say no one is guaranteed one.   How do others cope with this?  Especially those who work and cant be flexible enough to book on the morning of a sunny day.
