Dynamic pricing to be introduced

Welcome to the 21st century. It's what most of the industry does.

Prices won't necessarily go up nearer the time. They may come down if pitches aren't selling.

I look at this another way -

If due to a bad weather forecast, a site has only 40% occupancy for the following 3 days, will the prices fall to a level lower than members will have paid 12 months previously.? 

It seems to me, that the deposit scheme has resulted in fewer members booking early and this change is trying to remedy that situation..

This is really bad news. I will be even more unlikely to book club sites. Even when tied to school holidays we didn’t book 12 months ahead. We would book Jan/Feb for July or August. Of course that may have only been the ferry! May half term only ever booked a few months ahead. At these times we had a caravan so spent longer in one place. 
There is absolutely no way we can book a year ahead. We have a booking in March and we know where we want to go in April and May. And that is about as far as we’ve got.

I get it that if you have 2 or 3 weeks family holiday in the summer that you need to get that booked as soon as you can, dependent of course on when your employer allows you to book your annual leave. But for many of us this just further penalises those of us who need or want a bit of flexibility in our lives. 
As a member organisation the Club really is rubbish. “Improving its current annual pricing process” Absolute nonsense.

I believe the club have said that most people book within 21 days so with this knowledge they intend to raise prices for the majority? There's no mention of lowering prices.

This is terrible news.

How dare the "Club" introduce a new policy that is likely to have an impact on my touring. Quite a few members will take EuroT's advice and find alternative sites, such as CLs and Independents thus potentially crowding the market I prefer to use!!!!

Does the "Club" have no idea of the potential difficulties I might now face.? Not only those members who are leaving because of the new booking system plus those members leaving due to the deposit system but now I have to contend with members leaving due to "Dynamic Pricing". 

Heavens, I might have to find a pitch on a "Club" site.

This doesn't really bother me at all. if I want a particular site either at short or long notice then I'll pay the going rate. 

C&CC have had dynamic pricing for some time and I have not found it a problem or overly expensive for the times I have used them. What it does mean is the Club can change prices much easier to cover changes in costs.

Just checked this out, in the New Booking Experience area, the updated quote now says 50% of the membership book within 21 days...so if you're one of this group your holiday is likely to cost more and you'll be further disadvantaged being within the non cancellation period.

C&Cc are not "overly" expensive because they offer discounts.
