Final approach directions

Hi all, when looking at sites I seem to remember towards the bottom of the page it gave specific directions relating to the site.

I.E. Do not use sat nav for final approach and then it would instruct you to arrive at site avoiding possible pinch points/hazards.

Am I missing a trick but for the life of me I can't find this info anymore online. Any pointers much appreciated.

Kind regards John

If you touch / click on the magnifying glass at the top right of the screen (not present when on the booking pages, but on all others) it brings up a search window. Put in the name of the site and press search. This brings up the site name, normally at the top of the list. Touch / click on it and you are into the old site pages and directions are available as they were before.

Steve, I haven't read the 'snagging list' (life's too short....) but I assume (naively) the proper 'fix' will be to migrate all the site directions (and anything else that's missing) into the site info pages of the new system.

anything else (a simple link back to the 'old' pages) will mean data being maintained in two places (always a bad thing) and not being able to bin the old system even well down the line.

whilst the system can (just about) support folk booking a site they know on a date they want, the amount of missing day that still resides in the old system, including the CL 'library' is quite staggering.

at some point the club will need to bridge ALL the missing data otherwise it will mean either maintaining systems and hardware use for the old system OR it will just be turned off and there will be no way to find it, even with a magnifying glass👎

I would also assume that eventually the information will be incorporated into the new booking system. However, certainly in the medium term this does not seem to be the case. On the things to do list there is no mention of directions to CAMC sites, but they do plan a link to the old site pages for CL’s to provide cost and directions.

6. Adding a link to Certificated Locations (CLs) site details webpage to show you both From Prices and Directions

The info is certainly on line.  You can simply type the name of the site you are going to - whether Club site, Independent site, CL or CS - as an ordinary internet Google search. That will give you the website of the campsite you are going to.

Not all CLs/CSs have their own websites. Steve has given the solution up page.

Perhaps CAMC should sign up for EE full fibre broadband. Then they could talk us down from "the tower". Early arrivals could be put in a 'holding stack' circling the site. Think of all those pensioned off air traffic controllers looking for a 'little earner' in retirement wink
