Posted on 04/11/2020 20:20 by Simon100GTP, I think that you do many AS sites a disservice.
I have certainly had a VAT discount at affiliated sites and other commercial sites.

I gladly and apologetically stand corrected to those that do...and re-phrase my comment to 'some' are not passing on the VAT reduction. I have only interacted with three AS sites this year, all of which did not pass on the VAT reduction when booked on line. I did query one site re the VAT reduction which brought the response that they looked upon the retention of the VAT as an act of 'Survival'...
Out of interest , re my comments, I have looked at a further 4 AS sites on line and found that they too do not reduce the VAT when booking. On querying one...again out of interest, the reply was that the prices were set many months ago pre Corvid. (They did offer me a £1 pn discount for being a club member)
Aside...two of the three bookings I made with the Affiliated Sites are still active, One postponed until next year sometime, a credit note for the deposit issued via email,..the other booked for Christmas with the proviso I can postpone to a future date...

I was in the first issue of vouchers which I believe were only valid till the end of this year. We have managed to use the majority of them but still have £20 left over. Due to the current lockdown and more possible after Christmas and our ability to getaway anytime soon I was wondering if. The above offer of extending the vouchers till 2022 applied to us as well?

i was fortunate enough to be able to buy some vouchers. I have no doubt at all I will have used them all way before the March 2022 deadline. Makes me think why did people bother to buy them if they didn't think they would use them over such a long period. This year has changed so much but people still seem to expect the club to be mind readers and know what the future will bring! Fingers crossed we will be able to get out again soon but more importantly we will be able to do so safely

wouldn't it be easy to remove the expiry dates for all, why on earth do they need to have expiry dates on them after all if i can stand outside a club office and sell them on to new arrivals why cannot they just simply allow me to use them when i can, after all the club already has my money.
