Hi All,

Advise please, were on Lady Margreats Park Club Site & yesterday we paid £30 for the Club WiFi. It is atrocious, every time we come off the internet to go out, make a cup of tea etc we can't log  back in and we get the error message fatal log in.We then have to ring the helpline, give them our email address and they then log us in from their end. But as soon as we log out the same problem occurs and we have tp call the helpline again. This is across our 3 different devices and occurs whatever devise we use to log in. This morning the exact same happened so we rang fresh wave to ask for our money back which they refused saying its an error which the engineer will fix in the next week or so. This is no good to us and we want a refund what can we do?

Thanks

Go back to whoever you paid the money to - Fresh Wave/Air Angel/whoever and raise a complaint.

Next time, make your own arrangements. I'm surprised any contributor to CT wastes their money on site wifi after the posts that have appeared on here.

Club WiFi has been a been a known crock of the proverbial for sometime ..... and is obviously not getting any better.

The Club frequently says club Wi-Fi is getting better. However the number of issues still being reported on here seem to belie that. i have only once used the club Wi-Fi, when we were staying at a site for a week, many years ago, in London and we could see it might be useful.

I do think you are better off making your own arrangements if you want Wi-Fi on a club site. What those arrangement will be will no doubt depend upon the nature of the sites you visit (maybe you visit lots of commercial sites with good Wi-Fi) and the use you need. There are lots of possibilities out there.

We had a mini system installed when we bought the van, which we use with a Smarty sim. Serves us well and we can always login to a site Wi-Fi if it exists, which will save our data.

The system used by the club seems so antiquated in this day and age. Occasionally I use the free log in for the club website site but that's all. Better to make your own arrangements bearing in mind that some areas still have poor signals. Sorry to hear you've had problems hope they can be solved.

That's assuming that you can get a 4G signal - which is often non existent on club sites.

Not many these days in my experience, as long as you subscribe to a couple of providers. My phone is on EE, OH’s on O2. As a for instance last September / October touring the north of Scotland using 16 sites we could almost always get good 4G on at least one phone, even at Altnaharra. The only exception was our first / last nights at Clumber Park. At Dingwall and North Ledaig my phone had a 5G signal.

Agreed. Even as far north as Haroldswick on Unst in Shetland I’ve had no trouble getting a signal without use of boosters or other gizmos.

It's only very few club sites that don’t now have a signal.

There are numerous threads in several sections, FB. I doubt the search facility will help but you could start by scrolling through the threads in this section.

Here's a précis of what they say - site wifi is not fit for purpose.
